An Arab ambassador in Dubai has had his marriage annulled after discovering his new wife is cross-eyed and has a beard, Gulf News reported on Wednesday, citing sources close to the case.
The ambassador, who was not named, petitioned a court in the emirate for a divorce and compensation of 500,000 dirhams ($136,202) for money spend on gifts, the UAE daily reported.
The man only found out about his wife’s appearance after the couple had signed a marriage contract and the husband wanted to kiss his spouse, the newspaper said.
The woman, a Gulf national, had worn a niqab each time they had met, it added.
“Every time the couple met, the bride would do her best not to reveal her entire face,” the source was quoted as saying.
“He claimed to the sharia court officials that when he wanted to kiss his wife-to-be, he discovered that she was bearded and cross-eyed as well.”
But she had a really nice personality.

One of the most hilarious divorce stories I heard is when a couple has gor married and when the newly-weds had their first trip together, she has removed her contact lenses and he said it was a fraud and he loved her beautiful blue eyes, which occasionally turned hazel. He decided to get washington online divorce and their marriage last about a months in total.
I don't know what his beef is. I think we can all be pretty sure she's a virgin, and that seems to be an overriding qualification in that neck of the woods.
I can only hope all their Paradisical virgins are like that.

I still find this funny. I am sure a feminist would be all outraged that he left her because she is ugly to him, but a person wants what they want. My Mother says every cloth has a buyer. Perhaps she can find a guy that would be happy to have her as a wife in spite of what she looks like, just not this guy. I think though in all sincerity this is fraud, so I really cannot be mad at this guy. This is of course assuming that he was told that she looked quiet differently from what she really looks like by someone or herself.
As for me, if a guy claimed to have specific measurements and I found out after we got married that he didn't measure up I would be very very very angry. Would I divorce? I would like to say I don't think so, but I would still be angry.
This is a good reason why they want to blow themselves up.
