We all know what sex offenders look like. Or at least we think we do.
Getchen Carlson did a segment on Fox News about Georgia’s relaxation of its tough sex offender laws.
Don’t hit the play button on the video yet. First, look very closely at the guys on each side of Carlson. One of them is a grieving father and the other is a child pornographer. Pretty clear which one is which, right?
OK, now hit the play button.

Hi everyone. I have a cell phone application which displays sex offenders locations and crime incidents in a certain area. This is very useful for your kids protection against sex offenders. The child will be automatically alerted if they are near a dangerous area as well as their family and friends. This will guide your child to stay away from the areas where the sex offenders are located and crime areas. Also, this application will help your child from any emergency situation. By just pressing the panic button they could ask immediate help from family, friends and if needed to the nearest 911 in your area. To protect your child from sex offenders check this out http://Safekidzone.com/
Well All, the thought police have arrived. Jail time for your sexual thoughts. Nice work dummies. http://www.columbian.com/news/2010/dec/29/auchincloss-jailed-over-sex-offender-treatment/
End sex laws to curb people that feel the need to capitalize on people like cattle/sheep/duck/chickens. Politics is simple, when Oprah almost shut your law down with her campaign to make prostitution legal in the 70"s your bunch of fascist rot, bought her and started a run, well your run is done along with your law and members are in the dirt to your eye lids. The rotary will expose your Nazi BS. It's not a mental disorder to like sex as a child, your a mental disorder for making laws and manipulating a nation by media into thinking every household should line up to some goose step when kids die at the rate of 90K per day and kids set up adults and other children, sometimes at the direction of other members of the family for fun/status/home ownership/money/deception/a new/God/Daddy/or? more time on stage at the local house of worship trying to impress #1 In the words of Stephen Hicks: Nazis thought socialism should control? not only economics but breeding, religion and other intimate details of life. End sex laws now and look after your own like you care if you can but end sex laws now.
To post a comment no addresses, phone, personal information? Yet the hypocrisy of the registry is much bigger because that is what you do, and the use is suppose to be one sided like all the reasoning used to make the registry? Shut it down or are you blind/just without reason when people are murdering people not on the registry but error in data, and even if they did touch someone you want too kill them? How very sick is any national movement like that, O' that's right, we remember Hitler and they wanted so bad to be just like him? Far too many people have already died, Innocent/not sex will never be a reason for such action and the registry is an abominations brought to us by people shot sighted enough to think anyone can take a genocidal idea and put lip stick on it to make it acceptable, bating bat welding belligerent good citizens with a unfounded fear of sex, while you rally around the network of unhealthy individuals in wait for the opportunity too ambush someone at the local Target store/Walmart, like a petreedish of vermen how sick the people are to stand there and call someone what they are and expect everyone too side up like canaibles looking for their next murder vic? End sex laws now!
I think that speaking out about sex abuse and sex crimes is something we need to do...but it needs to be spoken of in the context of factual evidence and credible speakers...not mourning Father's who are out to punish everyone and make a buck while that are at it. Lunsford is the last person on the planet to point fingers. Rather than lobbying for legislation and/or programs that would educate and work to stop these kinds of crimes for happening, he simply wants to toughen the laws...laws that line his wallet with heavy cash flow. John Couey should have been behind bars for life...but that does not support the idea that harsher sentences for all sexual offenses makes sense. A father who takes his children to his mothers house during a divorce battle does not belong on the registry and many of those accused of false imprisonment of a child have in fact committed no sex crime at all. These people are keeping all of us from seeing the John Coueys and Lunsford wants more and more people on the registry. He wants them monitored. If his daughter was not murdered by a pedophile (not just a sex offender...a pedophile) his son would surely be on the registry and I am sure that Lunsford would be lobbying for reform because no trucker can afford a $300,000.00 legal battle. My point is that he is the typical spokesman to keep the public hysteria at a premium. Some of us are not so convinced that these laws could ever protect a child and I think that it is common sense to say and believe that we have to be on guard around everyone. When you focus on those on the registry, you take the real focus off of those who are actually committing the crimes, like the friends, fathers, police, teachers, preachers, youth workers, grandfathers, uncles, cousins, and your child's classmates...people who are close to those they later victimize. Teens having consensual sex, guys urinating outdoors, a teacher who taps a students leg telling him to put his leg under his desk and out of the isle...I could go on; these people DO NOT belong on the registry and are only clouding up the ability for anyone to determine who the real threat is. I'm not saying these people should not be punished; but in an effort to punish, law makers are spending millions on an ineffective registry that really doesn't tell us anything about what actually happened and whether that person is a risk. Oregon is doing it right. Their public registries only list those who are pedophiles rather than every minor offender they can possibly list.
I'm sorry that Lunsford's daughter was killed but Jessica's Law is irresponsible, dangerous, and is ruining the quality of our childrens lives. He has no right to put our children and communities at risk to punish others in an attempt to end his grief.
Yes. I could spot the sex offender. I know exactly who Mr. Lunsford is. Jessica's Law (or more correctly the Jessica Lundsford Act) is an important piece of legislation in this country especially to people to have kids I am sure, and any person who thinks themselves news savvy would know who the non-sex offender is just by looking at the still and can conclude that the second guy in the suit is the sex offender by the report. Mr. Lunsford has been VERY outspoken about his daughter's abduction and death and how to avoid that happening to other children.
It is good not to judge on appearances. It is a fact that serial murders do look just like the next door neighbor.
Note: I am surprised at the various posts of people who denounce Mr. Lunsford for appearing on TV etc speaking out against child molestation and so on. I don't know the man, but I don't see a problem in being an advocate against crime. I don't know what ELSE he is doing with funds or the attention that he is getting, but his daughter's death has enacted laws to protect children and that is the one good thing on this whole situation. Is the man a creep or a charlatan I don't know. I really don't know much about him, but I don't think it is a bad thing to speak out against these types of crimes especially when you are the parent of a victim. If there is more to the story then it will come out.
Thanks Eric for actually commenting on the truth!
Mark Lunsford is the real creep! Here he is making money pushing his dead daughters death on TV so that the states will crack down on sex offenses. He is partial owner of the company that puts ankle monitors on those convicted of sex crimes. Problem is, that in the process of cracking down on every ridiculous sex crime, like the same one Mark is guilty of and his son for starters, we, as regular law abiding citizens don't have a clue who the real threat is. He's out to make a buck and ruin the lives of millions because he lost his daughter. I don't care about the teen who had sex with a teen or the guy who peed in the woods...I do care about who is a real threat. As far as Kelly, most people being put on the registry for child porn looked at pics of underage girls who gave their consent to be photographed. Teens are being convicted by the hundreds for taking these kinds of pictures on their phones and passing them around. Not all of these pictures are of children. Anyone under the age of 18 caught selling pictures of themselves or looking at them can be prosecuted. This is not what the registries were about and thanks to people like Lunsford, they are pathetic and useless in protecting anyone.
I am enraged that this man would put making money above the safety of our children when he knows the devastating outcome of extreme sex crimes. He did not even announce that he was a father again for fear of loosing public sympathy. He looks like a creep and as far as I am concerned, he can push his agenda in your face cause it sounds like most of you believe anything. I on the other hand, will not support his agenda or any heartbroken parents that go from rags to riches buying Hummers and flying all over the country making money rather than pushing for effective legislation that works to actually protect our kids. It's my job to protect my child and I wouldn't think that a man having sex at his girlfriends house when he comes home to find his daughter missing really knows that much about being a good parent anyway.
Sorta like John Walsh. Shameful of these guys to cash in on a child's brutal death. Really want to prove it's all about the victims? Donate all the money to orphanages.
Before long, every guy (and many of the gals) in America will be some sort of sex offender.
Gretchen probably had to go take a shower after this interview.
