On Wednesday, lawmakers in Lansing revisited legislation that would significantly alter the way in which residents of Michigan voted and how the President of the United States is elected. If approved, the (NPVIC) or National Popular Vote Interstate Compact would replace the current Electoral College.
The basic premise of the NPVIC is to have states each pass an identical piece of legislation under which they would award their electoral votes to the candidate who receives the most “popular votes” nationwide, including the District of Columbia.

The Michigan Legislature on Saturday held a joint hearing of the House and Senate Oversight Committees, a rare occurrence. The session was called after reports of potential fraud taking place in the presidential election. One of the main ones was a software glitch that caused 6,000 votes in Antrim County to be incorrectly counted for Joe Biden. Once the a hand-count had taken place, those 6,000 votes went to President Trump. The Michigan Secretary of State, however, has said that this was “human error,” not a “software glitch.”

Antrim County Clerk Sheryl Guy learned of the skewed results in unofficial tabulations, the county said in a statement.
Biden received 62.5 percent of the over 12,000 ballots cast, versus Trump’s 36.3 percent, the initial results showed.
State Rep. Triston Cole, a Republican, told a local radio station that “There is no way that we flipped from 62 percent Trump in 2016 to upside-down this time around,” he said.

Money from a state water grant was used to bring “a youth basketball league back to the city after a fifteen-year absence,” according to the book “The Poisoned City.”
State water-crisis money has been providing free daycare for children ages 3 and under in the city, even though none of them were alive or in utero during the primary water crisis, a state spokesman acknowledged. The city switched from the problematic water supply in October 2015.
