The Boston Herald reported that Monica Cannon-Grant, the head of Violence in Boston, and her husband, Clark Grant, are accused of using the nonprofit “as a vehicle to personally enrich themselves and their designees,” according to a federal indictment unsealed on March 15.
The couple is facing 18 fraud related charges, including conspiracy, wire fraud, mail fraud, and making false statements to a mortgage lending business. Grant’s husband is charged in a more limited capacity.

As you may know, Minnesota has a goofy law that allows any Tom, Dick or Abdul off the street to vote as long as someone else comes along and vouches for them. Yeah, it’s probably the dumbest election law in America, but this is Minnesotistan we’re talking about, so don’t be too damn surprised.
Students at the University of Minnesota, students associated with B. Hussein Obama’s “Organizing For America,” now stand accused of –- prepare to be shocked — vouching for people they didn’t really know. This is, of course, a felony in Minnesotistan.

A special prosecutor investigating allegations of voter fraud, Trey Smith, is collecting DNA from the majority of the city council all Democrats. Five city councilmen, including the council president, as well as four other city and county public officials and political operatives, have been ordered to or have had their saliva swabbed for DNA samples to compare to absentee ballots and absentee ballot applications that were allegedly forged.
Wait – it gets worse:
It has been alleged that Democrats tried to steal the primary election for city council and county legislature, by forging absentee ballots and ballot applications.
However, the Democrats tried to handle the crisis in true Democratic fashion. First of all, “No comment,” was apparently the first comment off the lips of Democratic Council member Gary Galuski and several other public officials who are under investigation.
Sarah Couch, who is not under investigation, said that when the story broke last year another councilman asked her to issue a press release that would “’point blame at the Republican Party,’ and she refused to do so.”
Finally, “One of the others who allegedly gathered absentee ballot applications, former Troy Housing worker and Democratic Committeeman Anthony DeFiglio” said “’what appears as a huge conspiracy to non-political persons, is really a normal political tactic that went out of control.’”
Just a normal political tactic. Really? That sounds familiar. Isn’t that what they said about the “Louisiana Purchase” and the “Nebraska Kickback”?
Hopefully when these clowns are convicted they’ll be placed in a nice normal jail cell.

As the Washington Post reports, “The president called randomly on three audience members. All turned out to be members of groups with close ties to his administration: the Service Employees International Union, Health Care for America Now, and Organizing for America, which is a part of the Democratic National Committee. White House officials said that was a coincidence.”
Yup. A whole roomful of people showed up and our Fearless Leader coincidentally calls on three who just happen to be members of organizations that back his healthcare legistlation.
That’s not a coincidence, it’s a friggin’ miracle. What are the odds? No wonder this guy wanted to speak at Harry Reid’s fundraiser in Las Vegas. Let it ride, baby. When you’re hot, you’re hot. Baby needs a new pair of shoes.
Either that or the whole damn thing was as pre-planned as a White House press conference.
Stop the global warming presses. Scientists have discovered a remarkable link between rapidly rising world temperatures and…uh…well…United States postage rates.
“The rise in global temperatures since 1880 closely correlates with increases in postal charges,” the study stated, “sparking alarm that CO2 has been usurped as the main driver of climate change.”
As you can see in the chart, the correlation between rise in temperatures and the rise in the price of postage stamps is far closer than the correlation between temperatures and C02.
This tongue-planted-firmly-in-cheek scientific report demonstrates the obvious quite simply: Just because two things correlate doesn’t mean one causes the other.
But all kidding aside, there is one very important lesson to be learned from this study:
We must stop the increase in postage rates, because they’re killing the polar bears.
The dead may be making elections even livelier in Minnesota
As many as 2,812 dead people may have voted in Minnesota. Is it human error or fraud?
A conservative advocacy group says the problem is that the Minnesota Secretary of State neglects to purge the names of dead people from the voter rolls.
For example, Julie Webster died in 2006, but voter records show that she voted two years later on Nov. 4, 2008. Her husband Henry Webster said, “I’m here to tell you, there’s no malice on my end. (Election officials and I) had a two-way conversation that my wife had died and that she won’t be coming in. So I wrote deceased.”
An election worker, it appears, tallied the late Mrs. Webster as a voter who showed up and cast a ballot.
Deputy Secretary of State Jim Gelbmann says the problem should be blamed on mistakes, not fraud.
“I would venture—put my reputation on—the fact that there are very few, if any, people impersonating dead people,” he insisted. “You’re going to have human error. We’re doing our best to correct that human error.”
We vote for fraud. In fact, we voted for it five times.
Make no mistake about it, John Murtha is very sensitive about being corrupt. Or being caught at being corrupt. Or being questioned about being corrupt. Or doing business with a corrupt company. Or even hearing the word corrupt uttered in his presence.
