Alexi Giannoulias, one of Barack Obama’s Illinois cronies, is running for his former seat in the United States Senate.
Giannoulias made his money from his family’s bank – a bank that (a) loaned money to, shall we say, shady characters, and (b) was just closed down by federal regulators.
As might be expected, his Republican opponent, Mark Kirk, leads Giannoulias in the polls and has repeatedly hammered him on the bank issue.
Now the CBS television affiliate in Chicago is threatening not to cover Kirk’s campaign if he has the temerity to actually campaign against his opponent’s record.
Reporter: Channel 2’s made a decision. We’re really not going to cover the Senate race, if it’s consistently only in your terms, is about Broadway Bank. The bank’s been taken over by the government, Alexi’s been pilloried. Tell me, what is your campaign going forward? What are the issues you are going to tell the voters why they should vote for you?
Unbelievable. Absolutely un-freakin-believable.

So his point is that the guy is down (he was caught) so it makes no sense to pummel the guy with the truth of his misdoings? Okay whatever... I really cannot be bothered to be angry this is Chicago after all.
So what does Kirk do? Why didn't he end the interview? I mean he just went on to answer the question after being told that he would be censored. That is not a good look Kirk.

It is telling that the Mayor of Chicago is way more powerful then the Governor of Illinois. Since power is a corupting influence...
To be fair, it is Chicago and the campaign is just a bunch of kabuki anyway once SEIu and the organization formerly known as ACORN get into the act. But on a more important topic; how about those Cubs?
