Cruz wins Iowa Republican caucuses, Fox News projects

Cruz wins Iowa Republican caucuses, Fox News projects. With 99% of the votes in, Huckabee has suspended his campaign and Martin O’Malley has suspended his campaign.  Clinton has 50% vs. Sanders 49%. Probably close enough Hillary needs a underwear change. There should be a lot more Republicans packing it in after this.

  1. Ted Cruz 28%
  2. Donald Trump 24%
  3. Marco Rubio 23%
  4. Ben Carson 9%
  5. Rand Paul 5%
  6. Jeb Bush 3%
  7. John Kasich 2%
  8. Carly Fiorina 2%
  9. Mike Huckabee 2% – He’s suspended his campaign,
  10. Chris Christie 2%
  11. Rick Santorum 1%
  12. Gilmore 1%

CO2Insanity: Tired of the CO2 BS and all the other BS in the US and the world.

    • They all are. CO2 is trying to get it fixed, but as long as we have the https active, it seems we can't thumb.

      • You remember maybe stories from the mid East where ppl voted and got their thumbs cut off? One of them muslin countries

  • When some stupid wanker released the "titty" Cruz video I just knew that someone somewhere is SCARED! They are scared of Mark Blond too... We'll see what happens.

    • 1. The video was posted by "Secular Talk" and links to HuffPo.
      2. Ted was 18 years old! Not likely to be today what he was then.
      3. When I was 18, I was in favor of abortion and legalizing pot, within 3 years, I was a staunch Conservative and planning to join the military.
      4. Posting a video like this just proves how scared the left is that Ted going up against Hitlery is a losing proposition for them.

      • It was a pathetic attempt to say the very least. If people are going to be judge for what they do at 18 when their is measurable evidence that they are better people in the present then no one can run for office.

    • Begging your pardon, I'm having issues with my implant and thus am not able to understand the vid, could someone transcribe plz?

  • I give Cruz all the credit in the world for not backing down on the ethanol subsidy, and winning Iowa with the governor of the state against you is huge. And I'm glad he beat Trump...I'd vote for Donald if I HAD to, but I'm really tired of all the "It's going to be SO great, you're not gonna believe it!" bullshit.

But I gotta tell ya, Cruz is becoming almost unwatchable to me. That victory speech last night was TORTURE to watch. All those rehearsed hand gestures bother the shit outta me, and he never shuts up! FOX broke in after 32 minutes, and he was STILL talking.

  • Rand is my guy but I cannot tell you how happy I am that Cruz won. I may be wrong in my assessment, but I fear the Donald.

  • Of course Cruz got the win, those in charge of picking future presidents would never let an outsider in the game, (HBO's "hacking democracy" So we now have Cruz who will be the one put up for the republican side, whereas the democrats have the clinton "who for all intensive purposes should be in jail as a security risk" and for letting 4 men to be raped, mutilated and killed in Benghazi" and sanders "a devote socialist, who wants to give even more monies to those who will not lift a finger for themselves but have come to realize, they can sell their votes" These are the best America can put forth? all the while the media has simply dropped off Dr. Carson, who in reality is the only one of all those running is actually a decent and honorable man and the type the founding fathers wanted to participate in the citizen government.

    • I think you are fatally confused about who is the outsider. Trump and Cruz both started as outsiders but when push came to shove the Republican establishment and the media decided they would rather have Trump than Cruz. Cruz is the stalwart defender of the freedom and principle. Trump is a deal maker who looks out for himself and who is already in hock to the Saudis and Slim Shady down in Mexico.

      • Cruz respects the Constitution. Trump doesn't. Cruz respects your property, your money and your guns. Trump thinks the government should take all three and give it to him. Cruz is against partial birth abortion. Trump thinks it's just fine. TRUMP is a RINO. Cruz puts his reputation where his mouth is.

    • it is the very reason why bureaucracy is bureaucracy. this makes things complicated and then you need insiders to be able to play the complicated games in the correct paper-pushing places and ways.

this is a very portable and applicable procedure to all things in life that are meant to be impenetrable by normal people, it seems. :O

  • Hillary won one precinct by a coin toss... I think Iowans found herpes more exciting than either Bernie or Hillary.

  • In a whirl of propaganda, insane promises and political blather, one major fact stands out - Cruz won while maintaining his opposition to ethanol in the capital of ethanol. A demonstrable example of political integrity. Something damn rare these days.

    = Rubio.

    • I'm on board with you, but an important correction: Cruz is against subsidizing ethanol (along with any other form of energy), not ethanol itself. He's made it clear he thinks we should pursue all of our energy resources in the U.S. He just doesn't believe the government should pick favorites and give ethanol an advantage on taxpayers' money.

His explanation to a farmer yesterday in Iowa is fantastic: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=oi5IZ9StVUI

I haven't paid much attention to Cruz until lately, but I really like what he's been saying. If he wins this thing, I don't think I'll do much complaining. Rand Paul is still my favorite, and I don't want to be too quick to endorse Cruz because I don't know him well enough, but for now I'm content.

      • Rand Paul's biggest problem is his father. Since the fruit doesn't fall far from the tree, and he keeps mentioning his father in his comments, he makes me nervous that he might lose his mind.

        • I don't know--I liked his dad a lot. Perhaps he's eccentric and too narrowly focused on one or a few issues (fiscal policy), but I think he absolutely believes every word he says and is one of the smartest guys we've had in Congress.

          • When Ron was running 8 years ago, I was staying in a motel while I was remodeling a condo in Daytona Beach Shores.
A bunch of Ron Paul campaign supporters stayed in the same motel.
I never saw such a bunch of worthless, brain dead, jerkoffs in my life.

        • I've been saying that since Rand came out into the limelight. His Father is the reason he will never be President and he shouldn't be if he is going to go full Ron at some point.

    • Yeah, hear, hear! Didn't pander to anyone, had the governor against him, and won anyway. But now he heads to Trump's corner of the country. I don't give New Englanders much credit for common sense.

    • Porky has been reduced to the political equivalent of the homeless guy who stands on street corners and waves at the passing cars. The Dems won't touch him and he's been discredited by his wealth on the left. His only purpose at this point is to be the designated whipping boy for click hungry right wing political websites. Time to move on.
