The mystery is, why did Al Sharpton and Jesse Jackson and Charlie Rangel and the NAACP the rest of the racemongers decide to go after Don Imus for his “nappy-headed ho” comment after ignoring far more offensive comments in the past?
Like this one, for example. It’s called “The Black Beatles.”
We honestly don’t know what year this clip ran, but since Imus hasn’t been funny in at least 20 or 30 years, we have to assume it’s from back in the 70s or 80s.
Anyone have a better guess?

I have a DJ friend who used to work in the Midwest and his station would get feeds from all over the country so he used to record the Imus show when Imus was at WNBC. This "Black Beatles" bit was performed by comedian Rob Barlett in 1987. In fact, this particular recording was done three weeks after his initial appearance when he did his first, and much shorter, version of the "Black Beatles"; there was so much feedback about it that Imus brought him back.
Racism is the new "witch hunt" accusation of this time. Everyone running around pointing their finger at someone and shouting "racist!" without having to provide any evidence of racism is a joke.
People talking about how Imus is "damaging" race relations is a joke. Farrakhan, Jesse Jackson, and Al Sharpton, the WORST of racist speakers around, need people to run around and keep the "racist" fires burning or they would be out of work, racist mongers play right into their hands.
Imus isn't funny, Stern isn't funny, Kevin and the Bean aren't funny - so who gives a crap what they say?
When I see Farrakhan, Jackson, Rangle, Lee, Jackson Jr. or Sharpton in the news I remember one for the few jokes Bill Cosby included a curse word in.
Bill Cosby: "I was at a party one night and a friend of mine told me I should try some cocaine, it enhances your personality. I thought for a minute then told him 'Ok, but what if you are an asshole?'"
That s@$^t is funny Please lighten up. as Charlie says WINNING!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Speaking of Imus, now they're trying to get him and anyone else they consider racist expelled from planet earth!

Well, like Sanchez and Brendan Lee O'Connell its all good until you say something about Jews. If I had to guess that is what got him canned or at least on double-secret probation.
Not funny, and as a Beatles fan, HERESY! LOL
I didn't find this funny, but then again, I've never really found Don Imus very funny. This is just more gutter humor, it does nothing to advance unity between races when this country needs it most.
And the gutter humor spewed out of black comedians mouths advances unity between the "races"? Are you kidding me? If stupid people would quit worrying about a persons "race", or skin color, and look at what they do instead of what they look like we would all be better off. Richard Pryor and George Carlin were two of the best comedians ever born. Johnny Carson and Bill Cosby? I have never seen any better entertainers than these two are. Do you get my point here?
I have never been a big Imus fan but I will say this about him. He has a beautiful ranch in New Mexico, my home state, where kids from all ethnic backgrounds, most of them physically or mentally disabled, can go to see the great outdoors. There is a staff of physical and mental therapists for the kids. The kids can ride horses, go on a hayride in a wagon, eat around the fire at a cowboy cookout, get out of the city and have some fun.
And it is all free, costs nothing, the parents of the children do not have to pay a penny for the outing. Don Imus may not appeal to some of us but he has made a lot of money in radio and is doing something good with part of it. How many of the Michael Moore, Charlie Sheen, Hollyweird types have you seen do the same with their riches.
I dont know why we got a thumbs down. I don't know about Hisham, but I would agree that the likes of Chris Rock and whoever the heck else in that same sphere of "black comedy" who make crude disgusting jokes are not someone that I would approve of either. The situation HERE is that WE weren't talking about THEM. We were talking about Imus. If you had allowed for the discussion to be widened to that point and allow us the time to agree with you instead of accusing us and putting words in our mouths in this way I for one would have appreciated it.
Overall anyone who knows me knows how I feel about any kind of racism, and that it doesn't matter where it come from these type of "humor" is absurd and disgusting. I agree that we need to stop the madness and be race centric about things, but once again the discussion was not upon them. I don't know anything about Imus, but resorting to this kind of humor can and does make it difficult to see the good that he is trying to do. It is cheap and everyone (of any color) should stop it.
I wouldn't worry about the thumbs down KQ, who cares? As you get older and continue to grow as a person you will get the point I was trying to make. There is no such thing as "black comedy", "white comedy", "redneck comedy" it's all just comedy, entertainment.
Being an old redneck I appreciate, and understand, the jokes told by Jeff Foxworthy and Larry the Cable Guy. I also laugh like crazy at the stories told by Chris Rock and the late, great, Richard Pryor. It's all a matter of taste, of personal preference, and the point everyone keeps missing is all of it is entertainment! Comedians, movie actors, television actors and their shows, they are simple mindless entertainment. If the person or the show does not appeal to you, don't listen to or watch the show! What they say means nothing in the grand scheme of things, so why would anyone care what they joke about?
Politicians, comedians and actors are after one thing only, your attention. It dosen't matter if you vote for them, listen to their jokes or watch their movie, their intentions are the same. They want you to listen to them because they think they have something important to say. And those that have to pull the "race card" out over and over again to make their point are the ones that have nothing important to say at all.
I think we are getting blow back from people who are only seeing one side of the issue KQ. I've never liked base humor of any persuasion. It does nothing to lift our minds outside the gutters they're in most of the time and in most cases it only appeals to ethnocentric groups of people...tribalism of a sorts. We don't need tribalism at this point in time, we need national unity. We need the kind of unity that pushes back against this heavy handed marxist-socialist agenda...humor is all well and good, but we need something a little more high-minded than well, whatever that was, don't you think?
Either that or we are just getting thumbs down from Imus fans that cannot read nor have comprehension skills. Neither of us said anything bad, nothing we said was wrong.
Overall disgusting behavior and words are disgusting no matter the color of whomever says it.
Ya, good luck with that. The continuing gradual (or coming sudden) default of the US gov't on its debt and obligations will pit all sorts of sub-groups against eachother for the last bit of carcass of the country. If you look at all the problem areas throughout the world, the one underlying issue is different races or cultures forced into the same political boundaries.
I wish it wasn't so but I'm realistic. If you drive a flashy car sell it now and trade down so you don't stand out. use the proceeds to buy a gun and maybe body armor if you're a real boy-scout.
Exactly.
this guy is just another "face-made-for-radio"
He should get the same attention as a bug that is scraped of the windshield at 60mph.
He reminds me of the Chinese actor with the white hair and FuManChu mustache in all those cheap Kung Fu movies!
Sounds like a younger Al Sharpton, hence no "racist" blowback!
