Admit it. Don’t you kind of miss Former Defense Secretary Donald Rumsfeld’s Iraq war press conferences? The ones where he’d rip the heart out of any reporter who asked a stupid question?
Rumsfeld is now out flogging a book and Politico.com reports on his appearance on CNN’s State of the Union:
Asked on CNN’s “State of the Union” by host Candy Crowley whether the U.S. is looked at differently than under his tenure, Rumsfeld replied, “I don’t think there’s data that supports that.”
“I think [Obama] has made a practice of trying to apologize for America,” Rumsfeld said.
Rumsfeld also downplayed Obama’s Nobel Peace Prize.
“He had not accomplished a thing when he got the Nobel Prize. It was given to him on hope,” Rumsfeld said. “He’d been in office 15 minutes.”
Our favorite part of this clip was watching Crowley try to construct a question that defended Obama’s popularity around the world when she knows he’s been burned in effigy in Pakistan and Egypt in the last week.
But this is CNN, damn it, and they are the most trusted name in news.

Rumsfeld is a socialist. He is the guy who allowed BILLIONS of our tax dollars to go private companies in profit on costs contracts that he refused to allow to go to open and public bids. The most expensive form of corporate crony socialist capitalism in our ENTIRE history. A socialist is a socialist. Obama or Rumsfeld, A socialist is a socialist.

You are clearly projecting because you know damn well the overwhelming majority of Americans hate socialism, hate the welfare state mentality of the socialist, & since IRS appreciation day is coming on April 15, more people will see the socialists, for the collectivists/statists/marxists/redistributionists for what they are. Parasites. The time has come to cut the recipient class at the knees, because we can't afford them anymore.
Dany, what about corporate welfare? Are you for this? When corporations like McDonalds gets money from the Federal tit to expand overseas... this is BULLSHIT ! Also what about the greedy commodities speculators? These leaches do nothing BUT raise the price of the food we buy and the gas we have to have! They produce NOTHING that benefits society! 15 years ago oil speculators bought only 15% of the oil futures. Today they are over 90% because of their greed. Commodity speculation should be banned and outlawed! This is causing worldwide hunger and starvation. And soon revolution. The US should push the G 20 to ban this worldwide. Only end users and processors have any business buying commodity futures!! The speculator leaches produce nothing but hunger and poverty in the US and elsewhere.

We need what I call "Capitalism By Design"...take the obviously broken system we have now...and fix the damned thing!! End corporate welfare, tax loop holes for the wealthy, and have everyone pay their fair share. Everyone knows the wealthy only actually pay 5% or less taxes, where the working stiff making $40K to $60K will pay 40% !!! Why? Because the working stiffs can't hire tax lawyers and high priced CPAs to get them out of paying taxes. Nor can they hide their income in off shore banks like the wealthy- to avoid paying taxes!! The majority of Americans are tired as HELL of paying 40% taxes while the wealthy pay less then 10% !!!
Also Dany, did you know that 50% of the earned income in the US goes to the top 5% of the population? What the HELL is right about this? I am not a socialist or Marxist, but I do think we have to have a more fair system. And rather than redistribution, let the wealthy pay their FAIR share of the cost of police, firemen, and the military that protects their wealthy asses!
And BTW Obama and his Carzs suck! Most of Congress sucks! Too many of the GOPs in Congress suck! RINOs suck.
danybhoy...All conservatives who support socialist policies are socialist. I am right winger but I do not support right wing socialists anymore than I support left wing socialists. I agree whole heartedly with your sentiments but why are you stopping there? You should be just as angry at billions of tax dollars that are given every year in subsidies to private companies. Why are you angry when individuals get handouts but not companies? Are you a socialist? The steel industry, food industry, oil industry, coal industry, infrastucture companies all get state subsidies that make the bank bailouts look like chicken feed. And they get them every year.Every company should stand on its ability to make a profit, NOT expect the tax payer to subsidize profits.
David- very well stated!! My sentiments exactly! End socialist handouts to the big corporations too! My father had a small TV sales & repair shop. The US government damned sure would not help him out if he went into the hole or made lass than a decent year's pay!! The bailouts should never have happened!! $7 trillion in "social" (tax) money to bail out private businesses! HELL NO! GOP and Dems in bed together. IF the GOP don't wake up (and it is doubtful), a 3rd party will come along and knock both the other parties off their fragile glass bases!

There are more that just a few of us that are sick of all of the usual suspects. It just so happens that 100 Dems will get you 2 conservatives (maybe) and 100 Republicans will get you 20 conservatives (maybe). So, most of us are left to vote for the least liberal running and that usually happens to be a Republican. Term limits is the only answer. Strict limits - one term to a customer. One secretary to an elected official. Then, and only then, will the people's important business be attended to.
Yes, the POTUS is the CIC. BUT Bush listened too much to Chaney (who was more brain dead then Rumsfeld even) and listened to Rumsfeld and pretty much let Rummy do what he wanted! Perhaps many of you have a poor memory! If you remember, Rumsfeld decided to use "shock & awe" in Iraq! In the prior Gulf War, the US sent in a very large number of troops. It was a success. We should have removed Sadam then in my opinion, but we didn't. Rumsfeld did NOT send in enough troops. He thought "shock & awe" would be all we needed. I guess he thought he would just scare the shit out of them? Well, not having enough troops on the ground caused a month's operation to become a 10 year plus operation where thousands of our troops have died and are dying. Donald Rumsfeld caused these deaths due to his incompetence PERIOD!
People- use the reason God gave you. Don't just be PC..politically correct because he worked for GOP Bush!! I voted for Bush..both Bushes. Listen, I'm sure you mean well, but the Secretary of Defense does not send troops anywhere under any circumstances...that's POTUS's job, you know, the Commander-In-Chief! You are mouthing the same sputum all the best Lamestream Media outlets flogged us with before, during, and after the war in Iraq. I spent a long career in the service of this country and I can tell you one thing, W did a pretty good job of taking care of things with what he had to work with after his dad and Slick Willy and Congress got through turning a great superpower military into a mediocre turd world posse! Hind sight is always 20-20, it takes vision to see around corners and nobody but nobody makes omelets without breaking eggs! I don't pay attention to arm-chair generals who rarely made it out of a briefing room long enough to take a pee, or whose field deployment street cred is written on a piece of toilet paper! Perhaps you need to study the difference between Desert Storm and the "shock & awe" war on Iraq performed by Donald Rumsfeld. Which lasted longer? Which was more successful? In which did less US troops die? I await your honest answer.
