Fox News senior political analyst Brit Hume calls out the left for its hypocrisy. Correction: Make that their blatant hypocrisy.

“It has become a habit of the American left to equate disagreement with liberals and liberalism with hate,” Hume said. “So convinced do they seem of the virtue of their cause that the only possible explanation for resistance to it must be hatred. In the past week, at least two prominent liberal commentators spoke of the need to resist the right, quote, ‘Obama hate machine.’ Hardly a surprise then that the assassination attempt on Congresswoman Giffords would quickly be blamed on what columnist [Paul] Krugman of The New York Times called the climate of hate, fomented of course by the right.”
Hume also pointed out that some of the attempts to capitalize politically on the tragedy are deeply misguided.
“Never mind that the only climate that seemed to matter here was the fevered swamp of Jared Loughner’s mind,” he continued. “The Democratic sheriff of Pima County also saw a connection to the national climate, though he admitted he had no evidence, just his opinion he said. Here in Washington, Democratic Congressman Brady of Philadelphia has a bill to make at it crime to use language or symbols that quote, ‘Could be perceived as threatening violence against Congress.’ So presumably our national discourse will now be cleansed of references to attack ads and targeted races and blasting one’s opponent. Congress better kill that bill before it’s a crime to use the phrase and before anyone gets idea that regulating speech will have any effect on the behavior of the deranged.”

The funny thing is their disagreements with whatever you have to say doesn't equal hate... it is instead enlightment and if you were to take that tone (that you too are also enlightened)... then of course in their eyes you are being deceptive. Whatever... It is getting to a point where nothing that liberals do or say anymore surprises me.
Often they are assuming a conservative is doing exactly what they are trying to do. It is like a pothead thinking that *everyone* has tried pot at some point or another - Liberals assume Conservatives are being deceptive because that is the tactic they are using to win the argument. It is hard for many liberals to think that people actually are coming from a place of true belief because many of them aren't true believers - just in it for the power, prestige, and money.
(Never understood the money part, because LIberals don't make money! They use it all to help the poor and helpless among us...and we *all* Know big corporations only help Conservatives and never Liberals...heh.)

My biggest gripe with the donks and the MSM (but I repeat myself) using this tragedy for political points is WHERE ARE THE GOP LEADERS? Where is the counter strategy against the lies of the left? As for the law about having a weapon near a politician, there are people out there who’s brains and tongues could then be considered a weapon as they can make a politician look and act very stupid.

There is another law that is trying to be pushed through making it a crime to bring a weapon within the proximity of a politician.
These "laws" are so idiotic - like anyone that really wants to try to kill a Congressperson or other politician will listen to them? I can see it now "Oh I have this gun but...wait I'm within 50 feet of this congressman! Dang it, I can't assassinate him now..."
Seriously - what the heck? These politicians are trying to push through laws that just further cement the government controls over individual rights and are using this tragedy as a smokescreen for 'em.
I just hope the other politicians in Washington have the guts enough to stand up against 'em.
