Butt out! Gallup poll says Americans don’t want government healthcare

The Greatest Orator In History is having a big impact on the opinions of the American people. But not in the way his handlers expected.

Support for government run healthcare has fallen off a cliff. In fact, more Americans now want the government to butt out rather than butt in.

Here’s how Gallup.com reports its latest poll:

More Americans now say it is not the federal government’s responsibility to make sure all Americans have healthcare coverage (50%) than say it is (47%). This is a first since Gallup began tracking this question, and a significant shift from as recently as three years ago, when two-thirds said ensuring healthcare coverage was the government’s responsibility.

There’s only one thing you can do to save government run healthcare, Mr. Obama:

Begin speaking in favor of it.
