How can this be? There was a crisis in Tucson and the Democrats have done everything they can think of to exploit it and they lose ground in the polls. We repeat, HOW CAN THIS BE???????
Rasmussen explains the latest numbers:
Republicans hold an 11-point lead over Democrats on the Generic Congressional Ballot for the week ending January 9, 2011. That’s up one point from last week and six points from the week before. It’s the widest gap between the two parties since right before Election Day.
New Rasmussen Reports telephone polling finds that 47% of Likely U.S. Voters nationwide say they would vote for their district’s Republican congressional candidate, while 36% would choose the Democrat instead.
Last week, Republicans posted a similar 45% to 35% lead over the Democrats. The week before the election, support for Republicans peaked at 51%, the highest level of support either party has enjoyed in the last two years but has tapered off since then.
This survey included just a couple days of post-Tucson massacre madness. It will be very interesting to see what Rasmussen’s next poll shows.

I've been wondering the same thing given that the indoctrination centers called public schools (a.k.a., government-sponsored churches) have succeeded in producing so many mindless automatons the past 50 years. I guess this provides evidence that conservatism is succeeding - and in at least a few contexts (families, media, the marketplace, etc.)
Isn't it curious that modern liberalism is only afflict vulnerable children and arrested adolescents?
Chuck, I think for most individuals it becomes a process of growing up and having to support yourself as an adult... when people find themselves in the position of having to provide for themselves and pay their own bills the libtard ideology starts to lose it's charm.

I agree. In many ways it happened with me and it happens with many people. Most people as they grow older and older turn more conservative if not on all views, a lot of views...

Churchill was awesome but I kind of disagree... maybe not all for sure but most liberals (at least those that I encounter) are heartless.

This gives me hope that common sense is on a comeback in America. No wonder the communist democrats are doing all they can to squelch free speech on the internet and alternative media.
When I meet "Non-dependent" (Grown-ups supporting themselves without parental, governmental, or societalassistance) individuals who still support the prog/commie/libtard's agenda, I always ask them these questions:
1. "Why do those demanding "equal pay for equal work" never protest against "equal pay for little or no work"?'
2. " If a politician gets elected by the poor on a promise to eliminate poverty, wouldn't fulfilling his promise destroy his voting base? Wouldn't he rather benefit from the growing numbers of poor people? Isn't this an obvious conflict of interests?"
3. "If capitalism makes some people rich without making others poor, who will benefit when capitalism is destroyed?"
4. "If the poor in America have things that people in other countries can only dream about, why is there a movement to make America more like those other countries?"
5. "If cutting out the middleman lowers the price, why are we paying the government to stand between us and the markets?"
6. "Can you name one person who paid the IRS more than he owed because he trusted the government to put his money to good use?"
And
7. "Why do advocates for higher taxes have accountants advising them how they can pay smaller taxes? Wouldn't you expect them instead to seek advice on how to give away more of their income to the IRS? Or at least not to hire accountants at all?"
After mulling over those brain teasers, (and if they have half a brain in their heads), they usually start to consider that Conservatism might not be such an evil path to follow.
I'll bet that, unfortunately, your experience has probably shown most of these individuals have less than half of a functioning brain anywhere in their body, right?
