Unbelievable story of the day: Gitmo hides American flag so terrorist inmates won’t be offended by it

We have become wimps. Completely embarrassing wimps. There’s simply no other way to describe it. BigPeace.com has the details of an unbelievable story out of the Guantanamo terrorist prison:

gitmo-flag
Don't let the sight of an American flag offend the little darlings at Gitmo

In an especially well-timed release this week, Richard Miniter’s MASTERMIND: The Many Faces of the 9/11 Architect, Khalid Shaikh Mohammed reveals Mohammed’s rise to the top of Al Qaeda and his planning of the jihadist attacks on America in 2001.More than that, though, Miniter’s book includes shocking new disclosures about how the US treats its detainees. Miniter tells Big Peace:

I was stunned to learn while researching Mastermind that Guantanamo detainees succeeded in convincing prison officials to no longer raise the American flag anywhere they could see it. Each morning on every U.S. military base around the world, the American flag is raised to a bugle. But in the interests of not offending the detainees, it was stopped at Guantanamo.

Hide it? We think not. We should surround the damn prison yard with flag poles and raise the Stars & Stripes one at a time every morning as a team of buglers play Reveille over and over again.

They’re illiterate friggin’ prisoners mysteriously transported from the 13th century. Who cares what offends them?

  • Depends on which flag pole you are referencing. The non-secure side has flags all over the place, the secure side less so.

  • The report is false...........it was visiting American reporters and left-wing politicians that were offended by an American flag and complained

  • Having served in Guantanamo, I am proud to proclaim on 9/11/08 I flew an American flag for nine hours and 11 minutes, and another for 9 minutes and 11 sec at the tallest flagpole in Camp 4 which is highly visible to the detainees. Offensive? As compared to what, cutting someone's head off and posting on you tube? For heaven's sake, you think someone drew a cartoon or something.

  • This information is absolutely false. I am friends with a Public Affairs official who was stationed there for two years. Not only is he in possession of a flag that was flown over Camp Delta, he informed me that they blair the US National Anthem over the camps every day. Also, he left GITMO just a couple months ago, so it is current information.

  • This is not new, however. My father served in the Army during the occupation of The Dominican Republic in the mid '60s. During this time, they had the communists confined to a fenced-off area of Santa Domingo and fed them, paid them, and hid the US flag for fear of offending them. The prisoners dictated the terms to the guards. Sound familiar? Spineless cowards have been with us a long time.

    • Sad but true, for every one spineless coward there at at least a thousand who are not. When did we become a nation of minority, not majority, rule?

      • The US of A has NEVER been a country of majority rule. That mess is called a democracy, which is a fancy word for mob rule. This country was founded as a representative republic - which is a type of minority rule. Different in many ways from the tyranny of the ethnic minorities we see these days.

  • Obama offends me. Can we remove him from office? That would make me feel better.

    • Are you now, or have you ever been, a Muslim terrorist detainee at Gitmo? If your answer is yes, you may have an outside chance of getting Obastard to at least listen to your suggestion, but I think not.

      • I'm pretty sure the only reason Obama OK'd the mission was because he thinks he still has a shot at re-election. And he KNOWS the kind of uproar that would have happened if he had axed it.

    • I'm with you CurtisHx, that is exactly what needs to happen. He is so worried about offending his muslim brotherhood buddies but screw all of us, the American People? Someone really needs to take this guy out now!

  • This is a disgrace. Makes me want to go there and raise a flag of my own i plain view of the cages. But just outside the base so the soldiers can say "sorry, not on the premises, not our problem" when the terrorists complain.

Seriously, if I was a service member stationed there I would be offended that care for the people that have killed/tried to kill fellow service members stopped me from raising the flag of the country that I had sworn an oath to protect.

  • obama and his whole crew are a bunch of metro men, an embarrassment that should be deleated from the future history books.

    • "obama and his whole crew are a bunch of metro men, an embarrassment that should be deleated from the future history books."

Actually, I think the opposite. I hope I live long enough to see the absolute TRUTH written about this complete failure of a president and that by remembering our 'mistakes' (in electing him), we can avoid another disaster.

      • Gotta go with DJ on this one. This administration should be used forever as an example of how NOT to do things in this country. THAT'S the real reason I'd love to see Obama found to be ineligible to serve as President. To bring the shame and embarassment to such a high level that the Democrat Party never lives it down.

  • I'll tell you what they should run up the flag pole instead...the ass who thought this was a good idea. I'd love to find out how far up the food chain, uh, chain of command this gem of a decision goes.

I can't help but suspect it is AG Holder, but I could be wrong.

    • This decision may go above Holder and probably above Dinglebarry right to his boss Sorus.
