I must tell you of a frail old senile black man with an impish grin who shuffled to his death In The Financial district of San Francisco.He shuffled for six months from refuse receptacle to refuse receptacle in search of food and occasionally would receive compassionate food.For the most part all he received was SCOWLS especially when scrounging for food .He died in a box in the FETAL position with NO BLANKETS on November 29th 2010 when winter came early.
IT WAS HEARTLESS and UNFORGIVABLE in such a wealthy city.This happened a block from the Famous Pyramid Building.I have become a staunch advocate since and will not let his death just be another stat.
Until someone lives the HORROR of not having safe and sane services when you need them you have no right to judge.
Imagine working for thirty years and then you succumb to DEMENTIA and end up with such a fate.
