CAIR, the lunatics who bitch and moan about every perceived and imagined Islamic insult, have come up with a new one.
A tip from CAIR: Notify the FBI next time you find a nail in your driveway
The New York chapter of the Council on American-Islamic Relations (CAIR-NY) today called on the FBI to investigate a nail attack on a mosque in that state as a possible hate crime.
CAIR-NY said someone threw a jar of nails near the entrance of a Huntington, N.Y., mosque Wednesday night. The jar broke and nails were scattered in the area of the mosque’s driveway. Suffolk County police are investigating the incident as a possible hate crime. Representatives of the mosque say other possibly bias-motivated incidents have occurred in recent months.
State and national religious and political leaders must address the rising number of hate incidents targeting American Muslims and their institutions,” said CAIR-NY Community Affairs Director Faiza N. Ali. “We urge the FBI to add its resources to the investigation of this troubling incident.”
The Editor found a nail in his front left tire last week. Apparently he converted to Islam and didn’t know it and was, therefore, the victim of a nail attack slash hate crime.
That being said, we find ourselves agreeing with CAIR. Throwing nails in front of a mosque was wrong. The perpetrator should have throw box cutters instead.
SOMEONE is in danger of facing punitive measures and may be subjected to a severe punishment of punctuated punches .

It's all about perspective. If I found a jar of nails in my driveway, it would be, "Hey! Free nails! Awesome!" and pick them up and put them away. One less thing to have to buy. It's sad how some people get such a thrill out of playing victim.
I have had many a flat tire from nails in my tires-does that mean I am Muslim and have had hate crimes perpetrated upon me? These people are setting up so many of these stunts (like the Disney worker who was fine with her uniform for nearly 2 years, then HAD to wear her headscarf. Not just any scarf, HER head scarf.) These are all test cases to see how far they can push the legal system. I don't like the designation of hate crime anyway. A murder is a murder, regardless of the intent (I know, there are levels but you know what I mean). In this case it sounds like either 1) a set up. or 2) a common occurance that happened to be on their area. Most people don't care about Muslims one way or another to justify arranging something this insignificant! Maybe kids-have they checked to loal high school?
some other possibilities but not limited to those presented.
1) They are UFO's that have crash landed.
2) With near 20% unemployment more carpenters are driving around, all day and night, looking for work and the jars fell off the trucks.
3) This is happening in many locations and most people just clean up the mess and add the nails to their inventory.
4) Muslim reads the label on the jar and it says "made in Israel" and drops the jar in utter disgust and then blames someone for the mess.

What troubles me is the FBI having to take this nonsense seriously. The "incident" sounds suspiciously like a scam---drop a jar of nails, call police, alert the media, claim hate crime---and the perpetual victims are victimized once again.
If a jar of nails falls from a truck in the forest and CAIR isn't around to observe it, was that a hate crime?
