MSNBC political analyst Richard Wolffe has written a new book called “Revival: The Struggle for Survival Inside Obama’s White House.” And somehow he found a publisher willing to lose money on another book destined to gather dust in stores across America.
Based on its title, you know this is supposed to be seen as a serious tome, but one of the more meaningful incidents in the book shows the President taking his nanny state mentality down to the personal level.
The New York Post has the snippet:
One staffer was conspicuously overweight. The president, in an incident that Wolffe believes proves how caring the man is, took it upon himself to present the aide with a salad for lunch — “then listened to him protest that he could take care of his own health. ‘I love you, man,’ Obama said. ‘I want you to look after yourself. Eat the salad.’ ”
I love you, man. Eat the salad. That is the Obama presidency in a plastic see-through clamshell. (Hold the ranch dressing!) The president loves us. He knows what’s best for us. We should bow to his superior wisdom.
… The “eat the salad” command is echoed throughout the book, which finds Obama in emergency mode at all times and always convinced that his combination of charisma, intelligence and moral authority makes him uniquely qualified to solve any problem that has bedeviled humanity for any number of generations. As Obama sees the hapless White House underling — an oaf who has never heard of salad and has been waiting for a visionary to guide him to the land of arugula — he sees the world.
Isn’t this a microcosm of Obama’s problem? He thinks can solve any problem and he thinks we are hapless oafs.

It could be that he really cares for this man's or woman's health or it could be that he cannot stand the sight of fat people. Seeing that he is so arrogant it is hard to imagine it is genuine care, although I guess it could be.
If anything it is demonstrative that he doesn't care about what others want out of their own lives, he just wants to have means of control over people. Also is he going to keep supplying salads to this individual...? You see this type of mentality just doesn't work. He cannot possible buy this man's food everyday and he cannot make this man eat healthy either.
Afterwards Obama lights up one his Cancer sticks! I don't need someone telling me what to eat. Just like I am not going to tell you not to smoke!

Trust me, I have read all your references - which is how and why I know the difference between democratic progressivism and actual, real socialism. Unfortunately, the majority of voters in this country do not. Or is that just the result of a poisonous, "leftist", liberal media too?

A couple of things...
First, EH & Bruce understand what JoeA does not. Socialism, no matter what term you want to use,(& "democratic progressivism" is the American version) when taken to it's logical extention, ends up at the end of a gun. The systems in places like Russia, China, Burma, North Korea, & Nazi Germany all had differences, but are all socialist regimes taken to the extreme. The system means more then the people. But since socialism is for the people, not the socialist, those running things never understand the suffering they cause.
As for JoeA not getting my point about not all my news from FNC. You might need to kill talk radio & the internet. Maybe if only proper news & information sources were aviable on tv, on radio, & online, then I could get the sort of info & gain the type of understanding you have that I currently don't.
