France says the United States rescue effort in Haiti is really an occupation. Venezuela agrees. But it looks like ordinary Haitians disagree. Maybe it’s just us, but their chants of “U.S.A., U.S.A, U.S.A” seem to indicate that they may be grateful for our presence.

The foreign media is the most anti-American propaganda tool, I'm always amazed anybody listens to them. When was the last time France was taken seriously? By anybody? They're still drinking Lance Armstrong's urine samples. And Chavez is a mini despot in training who's crying for attention and the best way to do that is make a lot of anti-USA noise so that he can make small-time deals with Fidel and Ahmedinejad.
Just another reason to hate the French. They owe us a debt of gratitude, but instead are always looking to stick it to us.
This shouldnt surprise people it is ALMOST always like this. Only in very very anti American countries if there is an issue (like a natural disaster) and US sends aid of any kind do you see people being stupid, angry and ungrateful.
The french are just mad that 1. They lost Haiti (it is time to get over it) 2. The US has the potential of once again looking good 3. Haiti used to be theirs and their response to their plight was less than stellar and the US being up front makes the French look bad.
The French owe a lot more to the US than people think. Their entire wine industry could have ended had the US once again not intervened in the 1800's or early 1900's I believe. Then of course two world wars that the French needed help with. Our tourist dollars and so on.
Whatever. I love the country (it is beautiful), but the people and especially the government are horrible.
It is long past time to tell the french panty waists to EFF off!!! every chance, ask them "how good is your german?" - to the answer, reply your welcome!! Those arrogant SOBs need to be reminded that if not for the despised americans, they would have ceased to exist in the 1940's.
As for Venezuala, the answer ought to be "you're next".
Maybe the canucks could spare a few of the dragoons(french speaking infantry) to help with security.
