Joe Biden is a cheapskate. A cheap cheapskate who’s very cheap. Did we mention that he’s cheap?

joe biden

Joe Biden is the perfect liberal. His 2009 tax return shows that he’s a lot more generous with other people’s money than he is with his own.

WhiteHouse.gov reports the details of the cheap Veep’s lack of charity:

The Vice President and Dr. Jill Biden also released their 2009 federal income tax returns, as well as state income tax returns for both Delaware and Virginia. They filed joint federal and Delaware income tax returns. Dr. Biden filed a separate non-resident tax return for the state of Virginia. Together, they reported an adjusted gross income of $333,182. The Bidens paid $71,147 in federal income taxes for 2009. They paid $12,420 in Delaware income taxes and $1,477 in Virginia income taxes. The Bidens contributed $4,820 to charity, in both monetary and in-kind donations.

$4,820 is paltry enough based on Biden’s income. But note the words “in-kind” in that paragraph. That undoubtedly means that instead of donating cash, Biden loaded up a truckload of old shoes and a pile of his unsold and uninteresting books and took them down to his local Goodwill office.

Do as Biden says, not as Biden does.

  • I agree with someone that taxes are not good. There has to be taxes to be paid, but I believe there should be one percentage and one only and everyone pays the same percentage from what they earn. In any case, I do believe that everyone has the right to pony up whatever amount they can afford or even what they want, what happens is when people like this who keep telling me that I need to be american and pay up and then their own lives do not show that necessity to pay up that bothers me.

  • Reminds me of the tax records comparison between Cheney and Gore. I recall that in the same year that the Cheneys ponied up $11,000,000.00 Al and Tipper gave $350.00

Of course, the currency that libs like the Gores trade in is "raising awareness"... at which they are still miserable failures.

the link above should take you to an article I found were if you read the last line it says, "The Cheneys said that their total contributions to charitable organizations during the years that Mr. Cheney has served as Vice President totaled 7.96 million." Of course the article was about 2007 tax returns, so they still had one more tax season in office, so they undoubtedly gave more than that while in office.

This other link I found takes you to an article where it says, "When Vice President Dick Cheney was campaigning in 2000, he defended his families charitable donations of $209,832, or about 1%, of the $20.6 million he earned from 1989 to 1999."
The fact that Gore only donated $353 in 1997 is also in the article.
I just wanted to point that out because when I read your comment that the Cheneys 'ponied up' $11,000,000 in the year the Gores gave $350, I was like whaaaa

  • Yep... a cheap bastard, indeed. However, I think he has to pay too much income tax. ABOLISH PERSONAL INCOME TAX NOW!

  • Wow.
I believe that people should give freely (time & $$) as they see fit and according to their ability, but this is beyond the pale! I'm still amazed that he didn't up his giving since he got blasted last year for the same thing. I don't remember the percentage for 2008, but 1.5% of your AGI for 2009 is pretty bad for someone under the microscope. Obviously he or rather, they do not care what others think...the libs just want to spread other people's wealth, not their own and this proves it!
