John Edwards indicted by federal grand jury: Do you really care?

OK, so John Edwards finally got indicted. We’re not really sure if we should care about this story or not.

On one hand, no one cares about John Edwards anymore. At least we don’t. On the other hand, we don’t mind admitting that schadenfreude occasionally rears its ugly head here at IHTM and this is one of those occasions. We kind of enjoy seeing the biggest prick this side of Anthony Weiner’s underwear getting his comeuppance.

That's not what Rielle said, Johnny.

So as far as we’re concerned the only real news here – at least to us – is John Edwards’ real, full name:

A federal grand jury has indicted two-time presidential candidate John Edwards over massive sums of money spent to keep his mistress in hiding during the peak of his 2008 campaign for the White House.

The case of USA v. Johnny Reid Edwards contains six counts, including conspiracy, four counts of illegal campaign contributions and one count of false statements. The indictment was returned in the Middle District of North Carolina Friday.

Johnny Reid Edwards? His real name is Johnny and nickname is John? That’s backwards. But we shouldn’t be surprised because everything is backwards about this degenerate loser.

Such is his legacy.

Just for old times sake, here’s the other part of Edwards’ tattered legacy:

  • I can't believe the so-called media spokespersons are bashing his deceased wife with reports about how mean Elizabeth was when she found out about his affair. She screamed at him. Mean? I would have been after him with a carving knife.

    • If I were to have an affair, and my wife were to find out about it, there would not be enough left to bury, let alone to indict.

Edwards is a lucky man that his actual wife was the kind of decent human being that he could never be, what with being a scum sucking philandering ambulance chaser.

        • I have no doubt of that -- being married to scum like Johnny would require a suspension of not just morals, but of humanity as well. However, I don't like to speak ill of the dead.

          • Don't worry, "The Breck Girl" aka, John Edwards, could just channel the spirit of his dead wife. Just like he did as a trial lawyer, with little children. I would also like to see what the jury pool was that bought that performance.

  • And to think that this lying phony was once a serious contender for the Democrat Presidential nomination. We avoided that disaster only to see an even greater disaster get elected in 2008.

    • Indicting one is easier than sending one to prison for any length of time. He is starting out pretty well though; the amount of money involved, the number of people involved, besides him, in the indictment, the conspiracy and each and every charge is at least a class B felony, add that all together and you have two maybe three decades worth of "Me time" with somebdoy named "Missle" or "Nasty Jack!"

    • If found guilty and imprisoned (and that's a big IF), John Edwards will think he has been sent back to alimentary school.

      • Sounds like a good punishment for him, but you know that if he DOES do any time, it will be in a plush, low-security, Federal Prison, with Cable TV, Internet, conjugal visits,....................

    • Then he should have no trouble getting elected President, running as a Democrat. Even if he has to run the campaign from a Federal Prison cell.
