Keith Olbermann was invited to speak at Cornell University, his alma mater. Apparently, Charlie Sheen was unavailable.
During the Q & A session, Olbermann took a question from the president of the university’s conservative club.
His answer is exactly what you’d expect from Olbermann.

Olberman got a degree in milking cows.
Olby did not really go to Cornell. He went to an agriculture school that was affiliated with the university. Ann Coulter has called him out on it several times. He has some lame excuse for why he never made it clear that he didnt go to the Ivy league Cornell. The truth is he fabricated his academic record just like he does most of the bs he reports.
I just call it Cornell A&M. It is what it is.

Olbermann's response is pathetic and disappoints, and I envision many here would do exactly the same. I like the kid, trying to improve the tone. Some here are more like him. Who would you rather be?

Between this and a Washington Post piece I read today, I have decided that I will not pay for my children's college. I will not PAY my hard-earned money to send my kids to be turned into brainless boobs. If my kids want to go to college, they can do what I did and join the military to get the money to pay for college. I didn't just earn a degree, that way. I got a clue, which in my mind is more important!
I would advise they enter into community colleges or else apprenticeship programs or else those career programs (emt and the like). Liberal arts and all that is not the way to go.
I know I learned a lot during my apprenticeship in the International Union of Operating Engineers. Unlike a lot of other unions, if you're in the IUOE and you don't want to work, you'll find yourself out of a job in no time.
Attending college classes is a waste of time unless the kid has a specific goal in mind. Becoming a doctor or veternarian, an engineer or architect is a worthy goal. A liberal arts degree? Pfffft. I would rather hire a high school dropout than anyone with a liberal arts degree.
As far as the military goes I agree. In fact, I think every able bodied male should serve at least two years in the service of his choice. Army or Marines, Air Force, Navy or Coast Guard, it makes no difference. I know it did me a lot of good, I was a wild, out of control young man at the time, and what I learned in the military helped me in more ways than one over the years.
I went to the funeral of the judge who gave me a choice so many years ago, he passed away in 2008, to pay my respects. Prison or the service? It was my choice and I respected the man that gave me that choice.
Very well said whiskyriver, college is filled with lazy 20 somethings to 30 somethings that don't want to work and are being supported by liberal parents.

I am all for higher education and the like but I think the proliferation of useless degrees has the same end that always happens when supply outpaces demand (another good example of this would be our monetary system). That is that the value of supply decreases. It seems that a BA these days is equivalent to what a HS diploma used to be. So we are almost forced to commit ourselves to years of debt to not learn anything and get a useless degree that sets us pretty much on par with what earlier generations could accomplish straight out of high school.
On the upside the internet has made it possible to learn anything and everything you could at a university and for free. Unfortunately, however, it doesn't count for much on the resume.

I get the feeling he is looking way past FoxNews, & he left on his terms rather then the other way around. For a long time he has looking at how people are/will be getting their information, & his GBTV thing is just his latest step in staying out there. Also, I have had a feeling that he kinda wants out of the NYC area, for many reasons.

Just Wow, but not surprising. Unwilling to debate the issues, liberals are always the first to call conservatives stupid. The fact that they are so completely unwilling to listen to another viewpoint is really quite scary, AND that they think they are so completely RIGHT in ALL things regardless of facts....believing everything the MSM puts out there as news when actually it is MSMs opinions of the news.
