From the dawn of his national political career the President has talked to the country of sacrifice. And after a number of years of benefiting from our sacrifice without providing any of his own he is once again returning to that old rhetoric.

Yahoo the website has this story on yahoo the president:
President Barack Obama is urging US lawmakers to quickly forge a deal to keep the world’s richest nation from plunging into debt default, saying he is “willing to compromise.”
Obama has warned of economic “Armageddon” should Congress fail to raise the debt limit to allow more US borrowing, with his administration highlighting disastrous ripple effects that would churn through the global financial system.
But after five straight days of crisis talks ended Thursday without a clear solution, Obama implored fellow Democrats and opposition Republicans to embrace “shared sacrifice” to help break the stalemate that has led ratings agencies and top US lender China to sound the alarm over US creditworthiness.
“I’m willing to compromise. I’m willing to do what it takes to solve this problem, even if it’s not politically popular,” Obama said in his weekly radio address Saturday.
“Simply put, it will take a balanced approach, shared sacrifice, and a willingness to make unpopular choices on all our parts.”
Under normal circumstances this the part of our story where we would have written something (hopefully) clever to tie the piece altogether. We didn’t have to do that this time. The perfect summation had already been written. IHateTheMedia.com would like to thank Ayn Rand for the following bit of brilliance:
It only stands to reason that where there’s sacrifice, there’s someone collecting the sacrificial offerings. Where there’s service, there is someone being served. The man who speaks to you of sacrifice is speaking of slaves and masters, and intends to be the master.
What she said.

I'm thinking since King Barak has made the unpopular decisions, he expects we the people to share the sacrifice
I'm sorry, I have a sharing problem. It's been brought on by years of knowingly supporting a bunch of lazy, elitist, parasitic, socialist, shitbags. So I'm just going to have to tell our "Dear Leader" I can't help.
Sorry.... No Really!!!
I gave at the office.
Doesn't everyone with a job give at the office?
Yup, and way too much. Besides, it's not really giving when they take it at gunpoint.
"Shared sacrifice", right. My grandchildren (born and unborn) will be paying for Obama's insane spending spree fifty years from now. They'll be burdened with confiscatory taxes to pay for the benefits a prior generation enjoyed.
And they'll be living in a third world country.
Yeah, and it probably won't even belong to us anymore. :-(
Lets see, Obama gives up golf for one weekend, and the rest of us have to pay more for the next ten years? Thats some sacrafice Mr. President..Wow..
How about we all sacrafice some now for the sake of future generations, you know, bite the bullet, live within our means, no more Tarp, cut way back on federal agencies..Stop the majority of foreign aid, use some of that for border security at home, maybe stop spending money at the UN so they would actually have to work instead of riding around in Limos telling us we need to sacrafice? you know, common sense stuff...Oh God what was I thinking these are politicians, their common sense was chemically removed....
"Looky here, I want to compromise. Now here's the compromise I had in mind. We do EVERYTHING my way, and YOU accept the blame for it when it doesn't work."
What she said is right....
I don't mind sacrificing to the right LORD, because I DO get what I need and it is better than what I want. Obama is not awesome, he is lord of nothing good, he sucks and I won't sacrifice anything for his sake and the sake of his ideologies. He is the worst President in the history of this country and I am sure that Carter would be happy to hear that. Obamie can kiss my behind with all his talk of sacrifice. He better get it right, he needs to calm down this whole power trippin' he got going is not going to last forever.
I hear Tom Hanks talking about how he is supporting Obama and going togive him money and idiots like him what is wrong with this country? Why are people so blind?
Wow Kimmy. Very well said. But I must suggest we wait until we study Woodrow Wilson. Since I (and probably you) were educated in public schools, (and they've been liberally based for many many decades) we never heard what a clown Wilson was. So perhaps obomie is only the second worst president. I'm holding out hope for him --NOT!! What I want him to do, is something regarding the budget impasse, that will let us impeach him.
In all reality I was primarily educated in another country so Wilson wasn't really a big subject other than he was President during the First World War. In College it was all about the Progressive movement being a good thing for society because of the changes in labor laws and whatever and his name came up. I actually came to know more about him thanks to Glenn Beck. You are right there is a big contender for worst President if we add Woodrow Wilson. I guess at this point we can safely say that THIS side of WWII Obama is the worst President, but overall then we really have a few contenders, I mean in all reality FDR is a good contender and Herbert Hoover (ugh) sucked!
Absolutely Kimmy. Not all of our presidents have been Ronald Reagans. I mean. obomie's apology tour, his miserable wife Moochelle's claim that she has never been proud of America until we elected her stupid jerk-off anti-American husband president.
Primarily, I blame the self-serving media. We've trusted them for so long, and it makes me wonder if they were always so bad. Was Walter Cronkite as Anti-American as the leg tingler and the like minded clowns on that banana boat?
Yes, Tom Hanks has come out in support of Obama in 2012, proving once again that there is no idea so stupid that you can't find a hundred movie star to support it.
Maybe when his marginal tax rate jumps to 70% Hanks will realize his mistake.
...nah, he'll blame Bush.
Tom Hanks has always been an idiot, nothing new there. He IS showing us the depth of ignorance, though.
I got to admit that he is a good actor, it is just too bad he is so stupid and willfully blind.
He's just an actor KQ, why give him any more credibility than he deserves outside of his acting career?
Is that the same Armageddon we were threatened with without TARP (which did nothing for toxic assets) and near 1 trillion Stimulus (which increased unemployment, totally wasted on give-aways and such important shovel ready projects like funding buying guns to give to Mexican cartel killers) ???? That Armageddon? I thought so........
I would like to see him sacrificed on the altar of American Justice, convicted, imprisoned and hanged for treason! That's also a compromise I can live with.
My hope is that the next great American sacrifice will be Obama, himself, upon the altar of the electoral college in November 2012.
Sacrifice = giving something up in order to get something greater/better in return.
Should'nt he be dressed in a red & green suit with bells on it? Like a court jester maybe?
