• My BITCH is that his Almighty Know it All cant even place 1 call to a fallen solders family during a time of extreme grief but can find the time to call a football team owner about a player who got a second chance.

  What a crock of @#$%. It shows what true distain the man has for the US Military and those that stand in harms way.

    • ...but totally unsurprising. Lib culture and celebrity culture are so intertwined that a 'charity' supposedly to take care of animals kills more animals than any other organization -- and a 'president' gets elected based upon no discernable qualifications, -- and a 'football player' gets reinstated to his lucrative career. As the celebrity worldview states: 'no publicity is bad publicity', I'd say he got there partly BECAUSE of his crimes against animals.

      Obama's just pandering to the crowd by advocating for one of his own. I honestly believe there's NO difference between Barry and Miley Cyrus. They and their ilk have eloquently answered the question "what happens when you give trash money and fame?"

      Don't get me wrong -- I am all about redemption, and if a person has served their time they should be allowed to get on with their life -- it's just that I don't honestly think that he received the full measure of justice that ANYONE else would have.

      • I agree on all counts. I do also believe in forgiveness and redemption, but I don't believe he TRULY paid his debt to society nor do I believe (it is only my opinion) that he is truly sorry for what he did. Hence I cannot see this reward unto him as fair. Being praised by someone that is supposed to represent me is also making me angry. As far as I am concerned he is not deserving of praise. He might be deserving of another chance but not grandiose in nature to the point where even the President takes time of his hectic schedule to call his boss. So many people out there as the lady in the video intimated that are truly deserving of praise and consideration and second chances and are not given to them. I agree also that money and power only make you more of what you already are it doesn't truly change the nature within you.

• Never been a fan of the "mainstream" sports, never will be. But if I ever did have any respect for anyone involved in them, the fact that they accepted Vick back with open arms would have eliminated it.

  Never been a fan of Obama, never will be. But the fact that he accepted Vick back openly and publicly show that he is a celebrity whore, and I can't respect that. He also panders to everything black. Ok, not everything black. All black conservatives, or anyone black that is living a good and respectable life, is considered Uncle Tom by these liberals hacks.

  • I hate bring race into stuff, I avoid it as much as possible. However I cannot disagree. I have to wonder deep inside of me if he would extend such graciousness to a white man who had done the same thing. Of course I cannot see a true conservative man doing such a thing in the first place, however even if we are talking a hypocrite claiming to be a conservative (who is black) who would be found out to have done something like this I seriously doubt Obama would be this gracious anyway.

    • What I mean to say is that Obama panders to all that is low and vile in the black community, as well as in the white community, the hispanic community, the islamic community, etc. People of true value are not held in high esteem in this administration.

• When the whole thing about his dog fighting arena and everything came out they should have stuck him in the can, like they did. However, the early release (because he is a godzillionaire NFL star) should have been off the table. He should have done at least 20 years. Every other loser that enjoys or participates in this horrific blood sport should be hunted down and tossed for 20 years at least. Personally I'd find it difficult to keep the switch in safe with these pukes in my sights.

  I don't often delete entire paragraphs (3 no one will ever see) of well thought writing from my comments here but in keeping with a decent respect for humanity I did. I'll sum this up with this; That the NFL let him play ever again after the conviction is enough to tip the scale for me to never support anything about the NFL. Longtime fan having been pushed away more and more by the elites and their greed.

  Here in Tampa, where driving anywhere is costly, dangerous and time consuming due to moronic road layouts and rules, the NFL team here just nailed a new record - the entire season no home game broadcast locally due to the NFL blackout rule. It would cost about 350 USD for my son and I to attend a game, after gas, parking, cheapseats, a couple beers and a burger each. The NFL blackout rule disallows broadcast of home games that aren't sold out at least 72 hours prior to game time. The Buccaneers haven't got enough fans that can afford to go anymore. First time in history on televised NFL that a team had all the home games blacked out.

  Let the dirty lying bastard play in their greed driven league. But they ought to get a couple nice size pitbulls to lock jaw on his ankles whenever he is on the sidelines. I hope he gets some of what he really deserves here on Earth while alive, before God puts it to him. Does that make me bad?

• We shouldn't be so judgmental. In the end, we are all measured by our actions and our way of life on earth, so when the time comes, he will be called into account for what he's done. I do not agree with what he did, but it isn't my place to put him down. I leave that to the Higher Authority.

  • You are right, however if we don't have the ability to use our judgement correctly, that is when we get into trouble and make the wrong decisions. My point being that in what I believe is in the end rewarding Vick, it is sending a terrible message to people out there especially young people... and by Obama in essence taking it upon himself to endorse Vick the message is even worst.

    • It always irritates me when people say they are not judgemental. If you don't judge, don't discriminate, what you're saying is that you make no decisions about people. Everyone is just there, you can't decide whether they are good or bad. Seems like a lack of thinking to me.

      • Exactly.

        I guess (if I may theorize) that there is a serious misunderstanding (by some) of what Jesus said about not judging people, and from there (for what I've seen) is where this don't judge me or I don't want to judge mentality comes from. The intention was misjudgements or judgements made on evil or impure intentions. However, even Jesus made it quite clear that we had to make appropriate decisions and think things through before making final decisions. Apostles asked to weigh everything before making a final decision too. All of that must take judgements and discriminations at hand, without that ability we will never be able to live our lives and we will never be able to determine if something is good for us or not.

        Now regardless of the faith based part of it and just purely on a philosophical level I read in college that there is a misjudgement of judgement by many. All judgement is bad to them, and usually certain liberals and other factions buy into tha. It is of course nonsense, considering that such an idea is in of itself a judgement call.

        Judgement's got a bad reputation and I have so many theories on that, but I am not getting into it right now. All in all I do know that judging someone based on looks without taking the time to get to know the person is not appropriate, however if I know... KNOW that a man is a bad seed, but I don't employ judgement, like you so excellently sai, it would show a lack of thinking on my part and to get involved with him and then suffer the inevitable heartbreak will be all on me and no one else (as an example).

• I feel so bad for the dogs that have lost their lives and I feel so bad for the dogs that are having a hard time trusting people. The mandate was to take care of the world and everything in it. Be responsible in our actions. This is disgusting and even IF he paid his debt to society, I still say that he should never be allowed to play or be in such a highlighted position again. He should be allowed to go into obscurity. It feels that he is being heavily rewarded and that is not right... but in the end only G-d knows what is going on in that man's heart, I just personally don't like it. Especially Obama calling someone and THANKING the person for giving this guy a second chance. He should have never done that. As President he is the representative of the people as a whole, by doing so it seems like an endorsement that I for one do not give to Michael Vick and I am sure many US citizens do not share his feelings. Obama once again fails.

      • What's odd is EVERYBODY knows about the dogs, but almost NOBODY knows about the STD's. Also, at nfl.com you can buy gear from any NFL team, & 1 of the big sellers are jerseys, & they can be customized. So you can get your favorite players name & number, or you can do your own thing. So when this story came down, some fans started ordering Atlanta Falcons with Vick's #7, but wanted the name "Mexico" on the back instead of Vick. The NFL quickly put an end to those, & would'nt do them, but some fans did get them done at local sports shops though.

        • Those fans are stupid and disgustin in my opinion. You are right for some reason this story didnt surface along with the mistreatments of the dogs and I have to wonder why... Is it the incompetence of the media or some publicist did a good job in killing that story.

        • Sports fans care only about a person's ability to do something with a ball, puck, stick, etc. They care nothing at all about the person, if you want to call them that. I see "Bryant" jerseys all the time, for example. The moral of the story is, you lie down with dogs, (or dog killers), guess what you wake up with. And yet, there are still many who will look up to trash like this.

        • I don't agree, I'm not a hoops fan anymore, I was never a Laker fan, & I'm not Kobe fan in the least, but his case was not similar. While he was cheating on his wife, it does'nt seem like either Kobe or the accuser were forced into the act. The beef with the sexual assult seems to be about what happened during a consensual sex act, they were doing what they were doing, & then my guess is Kobe wanted to the "backdoor play"(pun intended), & that is where Kobe's legal troubles started. He was cleared of wrong doing in that case, but the accuser filed a civil suit, & that was settled out of court. He is a dirtbag, but was convicted of nothing.

        • You don't have to agree. I could have been more explanatory into what I found similarities with, however I sustain what I say. It is not a play by play thing, but my point was about RockingHorse's statement that people regardless of the person and their actions off the court, there are fans who do not care as long as the player performs to their satisfaction (and the same can be said of team owners and companies who sponsor the player). I know that he was convicted of nothing, but the media acceptance and his rewarding him after the fact bares similitude to Vick after the fact. The only reason why the both of them were welcomed back with open arms after all is because they can perform in their fields, bring asses to the stadium and sell a lot of crap. They make money to a lot of people and heck to everything else even if is nasty or in Vick's case criminal. So he didn't rape her perhaps, but she still had a prerogative to say no if it escalated to something she wasn't comfortable with. She bares the blame for sleeping with a married man and I am not saying it was okay at all, do not get me wrong, but if she hadn't acceded to him in the first place and he had force her from the start then he would have been convicted of rape. Again though that is not what I was talking about per se anyway.
