America was officially a socialist nation when BUSH passed the first bailouts, using your taxpayer dollars to go to subprime mortgages of other people. This is just hitting the gas on the accelerator.
we've leaned towards socialism sine the beginning. the post office, libraries, police forces, fire departments, social security, fdic, and let's not forget the us interstate highway system......which is probably the largest socialist project of the 20th century. workers unite and conquer the wealthy!
No we haven't leaned towards socialism since (not sine) the beginning. The Founding Fathers DID NOT envision a socialist country when they founded the country. As years went by and social progressive people came into being that is when we found the greatest socialist programs being engendered and overall socialism and progressivism has sadly infected both political parties. However it was the Democrats and Liberal Progressives that STARTED the ball running with FDR and Wilson, and so on.
The Post Office, Libraries, police forces, fire departments and the US interstate Highway system ARE not socialist programs (at least not in their original mandate and form). Money can be deviate through these agencies now of course to fund socialist programs, but their initial purpose as well as their basic purpose NOW is not a socialist agenda. I have no idea what you are talking about there. We need to have means to communicate with one another and even though we have the internet and phones the post office is very necessary so are libraries and police forces and fire departments if we don't have those how can we deal with emergencies? How is that socialist...?? Then the Highway system seriously? I mean that makes no sense... Now the FDIC has a lot of issues for sure and the social security I give you points there that is an entitlement and socialist program that should have never been allowed to take into being.
Now as far as workers uniting and conquering the wealthy after that happens then what? No one has a job because the workers wont have money to hire anyone and they wont have jobs to take care of themselves and their families... so they will be looking to the government who will have no money because there are no businesses, nor wealthy people to tax... you see this is exactly what I am talking about liberals have such short terms plans it is pathetic.

Fair point however one can make the same claims for so many Presidents before him like I think it was FDR and his SOCIAL security. (I think it was FDR or was it Wilson?). I agree that this is just the TOTALITY of ALL that has been done in the past that led to this moment.
