NYC Mayor and nanny state nitwit Mike Bloomberg runs a tight ship. “Tight” as in “absurdly anal.”
His Sanitation Department can’t be bothered with garbage collection or snow removal (might disturb the guys sleeping in their trucks) and now they issue tickets for, believe it or not, throwing trash in a trash can.
CBS New York reveals the surreal:
Darbe Pitofsky, 83, said she was on her way for a cup of coffee … when she threw a brown bag filled with old papers in a city litter basket near her apartment…
She said a sanitation worker quickly jumped out of his vehicle and demanded her information to write a summons.
Must be a serious crime, because those guys rarely do anything quickly:
Pitofsky said it took the worker 25 minutes to write the summons and when she complained that it would cost her $100, she said he threatened to make it $300.
A representative for the Sanitation Department said street baskets are for pedestrian use only but added Pitofsky can challenge the ticket if she thinks there has been a mistake.
“Pedestrian use only” sounds as if it would have been legal if she had gone out, bought the same newspapers and discarded them on the walk home. Segregating home and street trash sounds discriminatory to us. Regardless, our advice to Pitofsky would be to dump the papers between some parked cars when nobody was looking and let the city go screw itself.
Bloomberg wants to take his nitwittery national and run for president on the “No Labels” ticket. That’s an idea that should be trashed, $300 fine or not.

Well, I'll take the less popular side here and say that I at least see the rationale -- you don't want the public trash cans getting filled with fruit rinds and other nasty crap that's gonna stink and draw flies. Does seem like this hosebag was enjoying his authority just a little too much tho'.
All that he had to do was ask her not to dump it there and perhaps provide her with an alternative or get the thrash himself so he could dispose of it. He didnt need to give her a ticke and I am not sure why he has that power... he is not the police and the police shouldnt be in that situation either. Something is just not right here.
Generally, business owners do not want you putting *your* trash in *their* dumpsters. A guy can get into trouble that way. However, this is such an off-the-wall thing, especially since it is apparently car trash that sets them off, but pedestrian trash is OK.
I think that someone opened a can of asshole for breakfast, and had to use it all.
I don't get it. She was a pedestrian. I see nothing in the article about her using any other mode of transportation. Or does New York have another definition for pedestrian?
I wonder if New York City uses the same kind of logic when it comes to public toilets?
So it's a hundred dollar fine to dispose of garbage in a receptacle, but if she had littered that would have been okay?? NYC, you have your priorities screwed.....
bloomberg is a dhimmified judenrat, so something like that isn't surprising. If she had a burqa on she would have gotten a pass, fk him and the garbage boy that wrote the ticket. I would have stuffed it up his nose.
Coming this August 4th, "The Garbage Men," a total knock-off of the movie "Repo Men." They'll be placing tiny GPS devices in milk containers and baby diapers and Coke cans and beer bottles so that they can track the whereabouts of the city's garbage and then come busting into your home at Oh dark thirty in the morning and make an arrest, all because you failed to separate your trash! Don't laugh yet, just wait and see!
The streets of New York must really be paved with gold if they can afford to pay someone to run surveillance on garbage cans full time. And, apparently real crimes like murder and robbery must be non-existent if they can spare people to check the trash disposal habits of useless geezers like this irresponsible woman.
Making it impossible for good citizens to live peacebly seems to be the job of the Progressive Movement. However, in contrast, making life for disgusting criminals as easy as possible seems to be the right thing to do.
