New York Supreme Court reinstates all employees fired for being unvaccinated, orders backpay. About time we got some uncucked judges who have brains.

The court found that “being vaccinated does not prevent an individual from contracting or transmitting COVID-19.” New York City Mayor Eric Adams claimed earlier this year that his administration would not rehire employees who had been fired over their vaccination status.

NYC alone fired roughly 1,400 employees for being unvaccinated earlier this year after the city adopted a vaccine mandate under former Mayor Bill de Blasio.

Many of those fired were police officers and firefighters.

Slammed NYC Movers Turning Away Business As Residents Flee City. Give Governor Andrew Cuomo and NYC Mayor Bill de Blasio credit where credit is due. The American Moving and Storage Association should give them both “Salesman of the Year Awards.”

According to FlatRate Moving, the number of moves it has done has increased more than 46 percent between March 15 and August 15, compared with the same period last year. The number of those moving outside of New York City is up 50 percent — including a nearly 232 percent increase to Dutchess County and 116 percent increase to Ulster County in the Hudson Valley. -DNYUZ

Matt Jahn, owner of Brooklyn-based Metropolis Moving, told DNYUZ that he’s been flooded with so many customers that he’s had to reject new business. “We are turning people away because we just don’t have the capacity,” he said, adding “Normally, in a given summer, we spend a bunch on advertising. But we cut it this year because we couldn’t afford it. And we have still had amazing demand.”

CBS New York reveals the surreal:

Darbe Pitofsky, 83, said she was on her way for a cup of coffee … when she threw a brown bag filled with old papers in a city litter basket near her apartment…

She said a sanitation worker quickly jumped out of his vehicle and demanded her information to write a summons.

Must be a serious crime, because those guys rarely do anything quickly:

Pitofsky said it took the worker 25 minutes to write the summons and when she complained that it would cost her $100, she said he threatened to make it $300.

A representative for the Sanitation Department said street baskets are for pedestrian use only but added Pitofsky can challenge the ticket if she thinks there has been a mistake.

“Pedestrian use only” sounds as if it would have been legal if she had gone out, bought the same newspapers and discarded them on the walk home. Segregating home and street trash sounds discriminatory to us. Regardless, our advice to Pitofsky would be to dump the papers between some parked cars when nobody was looking and let the city go screw itself.

Bloomberg wants to take his nitwittery national and run for president on the “No Labels” ticket. That’s an idea that should be trashed, $300 fine or not.

After a pregnant pause, Representative Anthony Weiner has officially pulled out of the New York City mayoralty race.

“He is out for sure,” an elected official confirmed.

And size does matter, at least when it comes to a candidate’s campaign funds. Weiner said the primary reason for getting out of the race is the size of Mayor Bloomberg’s war chest.

“In this case, a sports analogy is apt: If one football team has 110 players on the field, the team with 11 has a hard time getting through the blocking and tackling on the crowded turf,” Weiner lamented.

We hope someone puts together one of those celebrity insult dinners for this guy, just so we can run a headline that says, “Weiner roast big success.”

It was instant panic when the good citizens of New York City saw another 747 screaming in low over the skyline. They screamed. They ran. They feared for their lives. And rightfully so.

Perhaps all this could have been avoided with a little
