No cheerleaders at the Super Bowl today, so maybe this will make up for it

super bowl no cheerleaders boobs

Nando’s is a restaurant chain that started in South Africa and now has stores in 38 countries (including one in Washington D.C.) They specialize in Portuguese chicken dishes.

We found a comment that said this was a South African commercial, but the blonde is definitely an Aussie, so we’re not sure where it was made. We could get into a long discussion about whether the commercial was done in Australia or whether it was done in South Africa to make fun of Australians or whether …

Who cares? It’s funny and it has boobs.

The Editor says, “Green Bay by seven” and the Administrator says, “Who’s playing?”

  • Oh, and I wouldn't watch a football game regardless of the cheerleaders. We went and had a wonderful brunch in a fine Mexican restaurant that wasn't over crowded, then went shopping without crowds. They should have a SuperBowl every day.

  • Good commercials or bad, I'll go to try the chicken if they open one in San Diego. Mmmm, Portuguese.

  • But of course it was a stupid commercial but it was quiet funny. No one will remember the subject item of the commercial but they will remember the name of the business that put it out. It is something that will stick in your head and that was all that was intended. I found it particularly entertaining. Whether you likes it or not it will be memorable. :)

  • No cheerleaders at the super bowl? Seriously?

The only reason I would even consider watching just vanished, aw, the freedom!

    • I just heard yesterday that Green Bay and Pittsburgh are two of only six teams in the NFL that do not have cheerleader squads. So unless Jerry Jones brings out the Cowboy cheerleaders, no cheerleaders today.

      • We won't have any luck with the Dallas cheerleaders. The NFL has already said no, since the Cowboys are not playing.

  • Sounds like a South African accent to me. I know you guys like this and I get why, but speaking from a female point of view, it's kinda stupid.

    • Trinity let's feast on eyes on stupid commercials too. Why should the boys have all the fun? Perhaps we too may go and get some of these products for our men in order for us to get in the mood for... whatever:

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=L7xQ2uiRSC4 Uhm I am going to need some cool water after these commercials for sure...

I love all the thumbs down. We must have hit a nerve.

    • Nobody disagrees. We all know it is stupid but some stupid stuff has merit, or merits perhaps would be more... you know, specific.

    • From the male point of view, I'm not sure yet if it's kinda stupid. I've watched it about 50 times and still cannot decide. I'll watch it some more and get back to you.

    • South Africa and yes you are right. It is stupid... Seriously won't be buying at Nando's anytime soon.

      • Well to whomever gave me the thumbs down... I dont care if you like to watch fake boobs on a woman you will never have. The commercial is not effective, because if this is about the burgers, she is complaining about the chips that dissappeared under her boobs? Whatev...

        • Well, KimmyQueen, it looks like our female point of view isn't much appreciated. I could get irritated by that, but then I am soooo used to it.

          • I actually forgot the name of the restaurant so as far as I am concerned this is still an ineffective commercial. I wonder if the guys will remember the name of the restaurant tomorrow or they will only remember the boobs. In any case, you are right it is in the end what it is.

          • Advertising is (nandos) about grabing the attention of somebody channel surfing past (nandos) or otherwise trying to tune out the commercials (nandos) as well as depositing a small association in the brain (nandos).

There's a good book called "Buyology" that discusses MRI brain imagines when advertising is flashed. Gist of it is: humans can have memories subliminally deposited by manipulating their more primal nature (nandos).

If I saw that commercial a few times, I would be hungry for a chicken sandwich after looking at a nice set of taters. I know, lets go to nandos!
