Watch this as fast as you can: A whole new approach to “Don’t break the speed limit” commercials

“Enjoy the Ride” is a commercial produced by the Western Australia Office of Road Safety. They abandoned the typical threatening and frightening approaches and tried to show drivers that there’s a better way to look at driving and life.

Don’t get us wrong. We’re pretty sure everyone completely ignored this commercial and continued driving like maniacs, but we still like the way they turned the problem upside down and inside out and came at it from a whole new direction.

Here’s a royal wedding we would have watched on TV

T-Mobile did a great parody commercial that demonstrates what the Royal Wedding should have been. It’s already had nearly 19,000,000 views on YouTube.

Mrs. Editor recorded four different networks’ coverage of the royal wedding. She watched it from beginning to end, but we’re proud to say that we saw not a minute of it.

That being said, T-Mobile did a great parody commercial that demonstrates what the wedding should have been. It’s already had nearly 17,500,000 views on YouTube.

They didn’t just find royal look-alikes for the commercial, they found dead ringers (especially for Queen Elizabeth, Prince Harry, Camilla Bowles-Parker-Mountbatten-Windsor and Kate Middleton), which makes the commercial even funnier.

And here’s a behind-the-scenes look at the production:

No cheerleaders at the Super Bowl today, so maybe this will make up for it

There are no cheerleaders at the Super Bowl today, since neither the Steelers nor Packers has a squad. But here is TV commercial with a not blonde in it to hopefully make up for it. It has boobs and is funny, so why not?

Nando’s is a restaurant chain that started in South Africa and now has stores in 38 countries (including one in Washington D.C.) They specialize in Portuguese chicken dishes.

We found a comment that said this was a South African commercial, but the blonde is definitely an Aussie, so we’re not sure where it was made. We could get into a long discussion about whether the commercial was done in Australia or whether it was done in South Africa to make fun of Australians or whether …

Who cares? It’s funny and it has boobs.

The Editor says, “Green Bay by seven” and the Administrator says, “Who’s playing?”

What the hell? Fox rejects John 3:16 Super Bowl commercial

Fox said the Fixed Point Foundation’s John 3:16 Superbowl commercial was rejected for “advancing particular beliefs or practices.” And that, apparently, is against company policy.

We’ve said it plenty of times. We’re not particularly religious and our main focus here at IHateTheMedia is fiscal conservatism, not social conservatism. That being said, we can’t figure out why Fox rejected an innocuous Super Bowl commercial from a Christian group.

Fox said the commercial was rejected for “advancing particular beliefs or practices.” And that, apparently, is against company policy.

The Fixed Point Foundation’s commercial shows a bunch of guys watching a football game on TV. After a close-up shot shows John 3:16 written on a Tim Tebow-ish player’s eye black, the guys do what we’ve done many times and wonder what it means. Then they take the step we’ve never taken – they look it up.

That’s it. That’s the whole commercial. No overt preaching. No suicide bombings of infidels. No beheadings of non-believers.

By the way, in case you’re wondering, here’s what the verse says:

“For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life.”

Close your eyes and try to picture President Obama doing this commercial (Oh, my god, we crack ourselves up)

Sean Duffy is a Republican running for Congress in Wisconsin. His campaign people came up with a creative, manly man’s way to demonstrate his promise to “bring the axe to Washington.” Watch the video, then try to imagine our current president doing something as manly.

Either one will make you laugh.

Northern Ireland bans British global warming commercials

Sammy Wilson, Northern Ireland’s outspoken environment minister, has banned the British government’s climate change TV commercials. He said their message is “insidious propaganda.”

Wilson believes we should learn to cope with natural climate change, rather than waste our resources attempting to slow down a “man-made” problem.

The objectionable TV commercials are part of the British government’s “Act on CO2″ campaign. They encourage the public to reduce its use of electricity and fossil fuels.

The British responded by saying, “We’ll deal with Sammy Wilson and the global warming problem as soon as we can get all this damn snow off the streets.”
