Obama cabinet has less “real world” experience than any administration in history

No wonder the economy is such a mess. President Obama has put together a team of Ivy League eggheads with no experience in the real world.

Here’s how the American Enterprise Institute explains it:

A friend sends along the following chart from a J.P. Morgan research report. It examines the prior private sector experience of the cabinet officials since 1900 that one might expect a president to turn to in seeking advice about helping the economy. It includes secretaries of State, Commerce, Treasury, Agriculture, Interior, Labor, Transportation, Energy, and Housing & Urban Development, and excludes Postmaster General, Navy, War, Health, Education & Welfare, Veterans Affairs, and Homeland Security—432 cabinet members in all.

When one considers that public sector employment has ranged since the 1950s at between 15 percent and 19 percent of the population, the makeup of the current cabinet—over 90 percent of its prior experience was in the public sector—is remarkable.

And here’s how Jimi Hendrix explains it:

It’s frightening. Truly frightening. Team Obama comes from an insulated world of professorial tenure and union job security. They’ve never hired anyone. They’ve never fired anyone. They’ve never had to deal with profits and losses. They’ve never had to lose a minute’s sleep worrying about paying the rent or making payroll.

And it shows.

  • Your boss doesn't 'take care of you' your boss makes money. This notion that business management is somehow administration is silly. Leadership is leadership and business management is business management. All business managers are leaders but not all leaders are business people. You might as well say that none of them come from royalty and it's scary and wrong. No one is going to fix this mess. We just gave it to the black guy so we could heckle him from the sidelines and shake our heads. BTW the guy handling the money policy's last job was One of the largest businesses in the US.

  • Scary. I saw it on Beck and couldnt believe it. They had no one to take care of but themselves so now they are making a mess of things. it is absolutely scary.

  • doesnt matter, obama is running things about as much as W did. they are just actors. his handlers : Zbigniew Brzezinski, has plenty of experience in making sure we stay a war for a long long time.

  • This is what happens when someone with little experience moves to the top and is insecure because of their lack of experience. So they bring on people with less experience thinking that they will look good. Happens in the corporate world. A really good leader will surround himself with an experienced staff and support. Can't resist giving this example but Saddam Hussein did this with Iraq. He put only loyal people in charge; not experienced people. And the army and government went down hill because of it. Izzat al-Douri, Vice-President in Saddam's government, sold ice on the street. But he proved to be loyal to Saddam so he moved to the top. Liberals voted for change and change is what we got. Look at the chart. Look at the economy, the national debt and the fact that a couple can walk into the WH uninvited.

  • Komissars are to move up the ranks within the Party before they will be appointed to the Politburo. You can't expect the Party faithful to continue the hard work of forced collectivization and youth indoctrination if the best positions in the bureaucracy are handed out to the very capitalists who have exploited our workers and spread lies about our Chairman.
    You sir, are a parasite.

  • Rumors are that he did run a lemonade stand in Hawaii, however, it’s commonly reported that he drank up all the profits.
