As you near the speed of light, time slows down. So if you left earth and traveled through space for one year, you would return one year older than when you left, but a thousand years might have passed on earth. Or something like that.

We think that’s what the President was trying to explain with this question and answer:
Reporter: You’ve been telling the American people all along that you oppose extending the tax cuts for the wealthier Americans. You said that again today. But what you never said was that you oppose the tax cuts, but you’d be willing to go ahead and extend them for a couple years if the politics of the moment demand it.
So what I’m wondering is when you take a stand like you had, why should the American people believe that you’re going to stick with it? Why should the American people believe that you’re not going to flip flop?
Obama: Hold on a second, Ben. This isn’t the politics of the moment. This has to do with what can we get done right now.
See? The President is explaining to the dimwitted reporter that because of Einstein’s Theory of Relativity, there’s a thousand years difference between the politics of the moment and what we can get done now.
You, much like the dimwitted reporter, may think that “now” and “of the moment” mean the same thing, but that’s only because your mind is not traveling at the speed of light like President Obama’s.
Class dismissed.

"As you near the speed of light, time slows down." ( actually, it only appears to slowdown... to the observer)
And my dog & cat look like misery (mo) does too, but usually at squirrels or birds.
O/T - Is her 'rear' actually .......uh....gaining?
"This isn't the politics of the moment. This has to do with what we can get done right now."
As I read Obama's statement my nose started bleeding. Maybe Chris Matthews can translate that gem for us nuance challenged Red Staters.
Off topic but I love that pic. Michelle is giving the umbrella the same sort of look my dog would to an unfamiliar object.
Where's Chris Mathews to pat her on the head and tell her she's a good girl?
Can we please have the dumb president back?
I'm hoping the reporter just stared at him in bewilderment, rather than pretending to understand what the President said.
