We don’t mind admitting that we long for the good ol’ days when Joe Biden was this administration’s official moron. Unfortunately, that role is being usurped by the President.
Here’s the President’s latest Bidenism at the Congressional Hispanic Caucus Institute Annual Awards Event in Washington, DC.
“Long before America was even an idea,” President Obama said, “this land of plenty was home to many peoples. The British and French, the Dutch and Spanish, to Mexicans, to countless Indian tribes. We all shared the same land.”
One possibility is that President Obama didn’t know that Mexico declared its independence from Spain on September 16, 1810.
The other more disturbing possibility is that he didn’t know United States declared its independence from England in 1776.

Well, we have no evidence he evr went to school, or what he was taught, or any indication he actually learned anything so . . . . .
In 1789 the USA were made of the 13 original colonies on the east coast, the rest was unclaimed land. The USA declared its independence in 1776 and Mexico in 1810 (Recognized in 1821). Everybody has to agree up to that point. But Texas became a state in 1845, California in 1850 and Arizona and New Mexico in 1912. So, yes, there must have been Mexicans in that area of what WOULD become the USA long before the country became what it is today. Nobody knew in 1776 that the USA would occupy the whole land from ocean to ocean.
With the detailed History lessons stipulated, that period of time was simply a land grab – the major powers of the time looking to colonize and expand their empires. Right or wrong it is history- Done, documented and over.
What I find interesting (and quite stomach churning) is the pandering the “great one” displays irrespective of the accuracy of his statements. Note how we get the applause and cheers only for one of the groups mentioned – the Mexicans.
Ironically he concludes with the omission of the “two words” from the Declaration of Independence with nary a protest. Considering almost 90% of Mexicans are of Catholic persuasion – a significant portion of the greater Christian Community, I found this very curious.
The Latino community – namely the Illegal Immigrants- wish to come into this country as they please without going through any process of legalization and because of this desire are being lured by the words and actions of liberal politicians who really have only one goal: VOTES.
These are the same liberal politicians who are piece by piece, dismantling the very foundation and fabric of this nation – leading us ever closer to a socialist society with the concept of freedom being placed in the history books right next to pre-United States history.
Be very careful what you wish (vote) for.
What is forgotten in the discussion, is this area was inhabited by many different Indian tribes. Most of which hated the Spanish and later the Mexicans and still later the Americans.

Normally, I agree with the site 100%. However, in this instance, there are a couple things I feel I should point out. While the United States was created in 1776, and Mexico declared independence in 1810, large portions of current day United States - namely all or part of the states of California, Nevada, Colorado, Wyoming, Utah, New Mexico, and Arizona, were not acquired by the United States from Mexico until the end of the Mexican-American War in 1848, with the signing of the Treaty of Guadalupe Hidalgo. The people who lived in these territories, once Mexicans, were given the choice of staying on their land, and in the process renouncing their Mexican citizenship and taking on American citizenship, or moving south to what was left of Mexico. So, while "Mexicans" might not have lived in America before it "was even an idea" (as Obama said), technically, there were Mexicans living in what would eventually become United States territory.
Mexico lost that territory in a war, fought by a standard code of conduct (Rules of War) that civilized countries use to engage in combat. Part of that code was "to the victor goes the spoils" including *disputed* lands. The US could have been barbaric and marched all the way to Central America and decimated the Mexican government and population. We chose not to. When Mexico surrendered, they ceded the disputed territory and the case was closed. Nowadays, you have Reconquistas wishing to either re-write history or basically reverse the outcome of that war without firing a shot. With certain dupes on our side of the border, there ideas are gaining in popularity which will only be detrimental to peace in North America. The land will not be returned to Mexico, not while I and several hundred thousand of my fellow Texans and other Americans have anything to say about it. But anyone who wants to claim to be a Mexican is free to go South beyond the US border and live in that country.

Way to inspire American pride Mr. President. Make up history, talk about Americans "shared values" and pretend all these countries south of our border(or any country) have those same values, and finally, stumble through a sentence in Declaration of Independence.
"We hold these truths to be self-evident, that all men are created equal, that they are endowed by their Creator with certain unalienable Rights, that among these are Life, Liberty and the pursuit of Happiness." Say it with some pride man, not like your wife just asked you if her ass looks fat in her new jeans. "We hold these truth to be self-evident, (Pause), that your ass does not look fat in those jeans Michelle, (Gulp)."
But this is what you get when your president has more values in common with Hugo Chavez than the Declaration of Independence.
