Well this member of the general public is the one (among many) who is going to be in a world of financial Sh*t because of the choices and actions of the professional politicians. So I feel I have a vested interest in what they are planning and doing, regardless of what they think. I don't have money squirreled away in off shore and overseas accounts. If I don't get paid, I starve!

If these asswipes, er professional politicians, were running a crack rehab center their solution would be to bring in several truck loads of crack and give it to the addicts. The journalists would oooh and ahhhh about what a brilliant plan this is. Then they would all be stunned when no addicts are cured, and in fact, worse off than they were before they received this "professional help".

I had a debate with an old high school friend yesterday who was miffed that I was making fun of FLOTUS and her 1700cal meal... This is exactly the point I was trying to make, but couldn't figure out the right descriptor. I kept saying it's the hypocrisy, but it's beyond that! It's not that she splurged ROYALLY, cause can we really call a 1700 cal meal a mere splurge, & more than the fact that she and POTUS are trying to tell us how to "get healthy," it was the fact that they are trying to shove it down our throats because have this "they know better than us" elitism. Elitism is the perfect descriptor.
I am re-reading Craig Shirley's book, Rendezvous with Destiny, all about Reagan's 1980 campaign. The first time I read it I raced to the good part of the book where Reagan kick Carter's ass and this time I'm being more disciplined. The book discusses the state of union under Carter and the similarity to what we are enduring with Obama is startling.
Hopefully November 2012 provides the country with the same relief we got in November of 1980.
