Nightmare on Main Street: Obama promises students to pass the DREAM Act

Martin Luther King had a dream for Ameria. Barack Obama has a nightmare.

Not content with his efforts to drive the nation into bankruptcy, he’s now promising to renew his efforts to piss away even more money and piss off more citizens by renewing his efforts to pass the DREAM Act.

Illegal aliens on parade: They left out un-freakin-believable

The Associated Press has details of what should more accurately be called the Illegal Alien Education Act:

Stepping up his demand to change the nation’s immigration laws, President Barack Obama promised graduates at a vast, multicultural community college in Miami on Friday that he’ll keep working to help students not legally in the U.S. to become American citizens.

The president’s renewed endorsement of the DREAM Act, which has become a rallying cry for Hispanic and other students around the country, drew enthusiastic applause from more than 3,000 graduates of Miami Dade College at their commencement ceremony. The students are part of an increasingly important political constituency in a state that will be crucial to the president’s 2012 re-election hopes.

The college graduates more Hispanic students than any other higher education institution in the U.S. Obama took note that some students had recently identified themselves publicly as immigrants without legal status in the country.

“Some were brought here as young children and discovered the truth only as adults,” he said. “They put their futures on the line in hopes they will spur the rest of us to live up to our most cherished values.”

Live up to our most cherished values? When did legalizing and educating criminals become one of our most cherished values.

That’s one of your most cherished values, Mr. President, not one of ours.

  • The children who were brought in by their parents should be allowed to stay Only If They Secure the Border; but they are not American citizens. They should be given some kind of resident status, But Not Citizenship unless they go through the process of applying.

The children who were born in American to Illegal Aliens Should not have the right to vote or run for office because they were not born to Legal US citizens of the US!

    Problem solved!

    • I don't agree. The children who were brought here illegally by illegal people should leave with their parents. If they are over the age of 18 they have the choice to either go back and do things right or be deported for staying knowing fully well they are illegal. If they do not leave on their own volition they are deported. If they are deported they are not allowed to apply. They should not be awarded special positions just because they happen to be children when they came.

Children born here from illegal parents should leave alongside their parents. If they are over the age of 18 they could be given the option to stay and go through the entire process of immigration and naturalization at their own expense, or go back to the country of their parents and apply from there and go through entire process at their own expense. If they refuse to leave they can be heavily fined and told to go through the process and if they refuse they are deported and still allowed to go through the process, however after 3-5 years of deportation.

I don't see why it should be easy for illegal people and children of illegal people to become legal and/or citizens when so many others had to go through arduous process by choosing to do things right from the get go. Where is the justice in that?

  • “Some were brought here as young children and discovered the truth only as adults,” . Obama thinks we're stupid. As if it took these college students until adulthood to 'figure it out'. You know as well as I that they're probably getting a free education, a warm free bed, a free roof over their head, and you can bet you're paying for their nacho cheese, too. Is that the 'truth' he's babbling about? Worthless POS

  • I don't owe this people anything. They (and/or their parents) should have done it the right way and not expect others to pay for their education.

Editor: You misspelled America or someone did.

  • The banner the chicka in the picture above should read:

    UNDOCUMENTED
    UNAFRAID
    UNAMERICAN

Good luck with that, it's not going to happen. You have too much resistance called THE AMERICAN PEOPLE. If you don't start listening to us there WILL be hell to PAY! We're not listening to you and your hateful, brother separating LIES anymore punk. Get over yourself.

  • By their own admission the bunch in the photo are here illegal and should be then next ones in a deportation hearing and head out of this country. They are not entitled to any thing except a quick exit from this nation and barred from returning to this nation for at least 5 years.

Once again barry has chosen to ignore the constitution and the oath that he took when he stood at the podium.

  • My friend lives in the south Florida area. She says she feels like an outcast because she doesn't speak Spanish. When Hulk Hogan moved to Miami on his reality show, he said, "Does anyone speak English around here?"

There's a point in there somewhere.

  • "The students are part of an increasingly important political constituency in a state that will be crucial to the president’s 2012 re-election hopes."

I think that needs a re-write. Change it to, "The illegal students will BECOME an important political constituency, ensuring Democratic votes in any area with a large illegal population."

This type of garbage makes gerrymandering congressional districts look like an almost honest political strategy in comparison.
