NYC asking developers to test tiny apartments

NYC asking developers to test tiny apartments. “City planners envision a future in which the young, the cash-poor and empty nesters flock to such small dwellings – each not much bigger than a dorm room.” NYC’s looking at 300 sq ft but SF developers want to go as low as 150. New Yorkers, don’t throw out your shoe boxes, you soon may be able to rent them out.

Obama bill-paying hoax sweeps up victims nationwide

Obama bill-paying hoax sweeps up victims nationwide. “…the bogus ‘Obama program’ appears to be an identity theft scam. According to news reports, uniformed con men with clipboards went door to door in a handful of states, signing people up by collecting Social Security numbers and then giving them phony bank routing numbers to use to pay their bills.” Well, (con) art imitates life…

ObamaCare driving away doctors?

ObamaCare driving away doctors? A sample from the recent Doctor Patient Medical Association poll: 83% say they are thinking about QUITTING, 65% say GOVERNMENT INVOLVEMENT is most to blame for current problems, 70% say REDUCING GOVERNMENT would be single best fix. On the other hand in Obamacare’s defense, Mitt Romney is rich and… LOOK, SQUIRRELS!

Calls to destroy Egypt’s Great Pyramids begin

Calls to destroy Egypt’s Great Pyramids begin. “According to several reports in the Arabic media, prominent Muslim clerics have begun to call for the demolition of Egypt’s Great Pyramids—or, in the words of Saudi Sheikh Ali bin Said al-Rabi‘i, those ‘symbols of paganism’…” Well, who needs tourism, they have so many other economic assets to replace it.

Scranton, PA is effectively bankrupt

Scranton, PA is effectively bankrupt. “Scranton, PA’s, the state’s sixth-most-populous city (population of 76,089 in 2010 census), is down to its last $5,000 and has no way to pay salaries. The mayor wants an immediate tax hike of 29% and 78% over three years. In every sense of the word, Scranton is bankrupt.” Joe Biden’s home town… metaphor alert!

Uh, oh… China headed for deflationary shock?

China is on the cusp of a deflationary vortex. “”While an economy-wide generalized deflation is yet to be seen, the deflationary spiral looks to have started in some industrial sectors, attesting to considerable stress with the economy.” “All engines of the global economy are sputtering at the same time.” This is not good news but it will be Bush’s fault.

Video: Romney needs to be an “open book” if he’s going to run for president, says … Obama

Video: Romney needs to be an “open book” if he’s going to run for president, says … Obama. Amazing hubris for someone who’s spent millions keeping his birth certificate and college records sealed tighter than a drum. The only question we have is why doesn’t Romney attack this?

Obama’s only chance is character assassination

Obama’s only chance is character assassination. Pundits like Bill Kristol, think that Obama’s high-40s poll readings mean Romney’s campaign is failing. Not true, the election is a referendum on Obama, not an Obama-Romney choice as the media would prefer. Also remember most polls had Carter-Reagan “too close to call” going into the last weekend in 1980 – you know how that turned out. Voters are looking for a reason to vote NObama; what one seeks, one usually finds. It’s waaaay too early for this guy…

Don’t bet on Obamacare

Don’t bet on Obamacare. “I believe that Obamacare in its current form is doomed, regardless of who emerges victorious on November 6.” Too many questionable assumptions and because Obamacare, unlike Social Security and Medicare, plays favorites. Sounds like a house of cards built on a pillar of sand in an earthquake zone. Classic Democrat-goguery.

Second great white shark sighting off Cape Cod has beach-goers worried

Second great white shark sighting off Cape Cod has beach-goers worried. Say, wasn’t there once a movie about this? Ironically, even though “Jaws” was set in the fictional location of Amity Island, NY, some of the filming was done in Martha’s Vineyard, off of Cape Cod. Ah, maybe the sharks just came by to say “hi” to Fauxcahontas.

Poll: Majority of voters believe Obama has changed country… for worse

Poll: Majority of voters believe Obama has changed country… for worse. “A new poll for The Hill found 56 percent of likely voters believe Obama’s first term has transformed the nation in a negative way, compared to 35 percent who believe the country has changed for the better under his leadership.” Why is Obama seemingly still popular then? Here’s an interesting take on that.

France sells bonds at negative interest rate

France sells bonds at negative interest rate. “France’s government has sold short-term bonds at negative interest rates for the first time, a sign of investor confidence despite concerns about French debts and the wider eurozone.” Confidence? Nice Try. It’s called “flight to safety” and is a sign that investors expect a collapse of the broader economy, otherwise there would be no reason to lend money to the gubbermint and get less back. Japan sold bonds at negative yields at times during their 20+ year Keynesian wreckovery.

Proglodytes Rebranding

Proglodytes trying to rebrand Health Control narrative by calling the uninsured by choice “freeloaders”: Let us explode this fiction right here. This notion that all Americans have a responsibility to carry health insurance. We do not. It is most critical, if we are to remain a free people, to regularly indentify what they would have us ignore and emphatically reject this yoke of servitude to our neighbors and the state in the matter of our supposed responsibility to have health care. There is no such responsibility. Our health is not the business of the neighbors. Our bodies are not their property. Nor are they the property of the state. We am not their servants. We am not their slaves. They do not own us. And they do not have the rightful authority to conscript us into their service. Nor have they the right to confiscate our other properties or labor. And if they’re really concerned about the freeloading then release the tax slaves from this unnatural obligation to pay for the food, housing, education and now health care for the actual freeloaders. But they can’t do that. Because if they did there would be no one to buy them votes.
