Economics 101: Paul Ryan is the professor, Chris Matthews is the reluctant student

Poor Chris Matthews. He thought he had Republican Congressman Paul Ryan trapped and condescendingly said, “So, in other words, all this bitching about the deficit doesn’t mean squat.”

That’s when Ryan taught Matthews a couple lessons and left the sad, little MSNBC host sputtering.

Dunce cap for Matthews.

  • Don't you just love it when leftists try using religious arguments against conservative politicians & policies? From the same asshats who take offence when they hear "Under God" in the pledge, & fight against prayer in just about every arena in the nation...Give me a break.

BTW, the next time you hear "it's for the children", remind them of their support of abortion, & how sh!tty the public schools are & why they are. Plus while you are at it, remind these folks that the uterus of a poor woman is one of the most valuable things to a progressive liberal, because it produces either a client for an abortion, orrrrr another child on welfare, & thus the next generation of Demacrat voters.

  • Paul Ryan may or may not be an idiot.
Paul Ryan, is, though corrupt through and through; but he may not even realize it. No one who is a practicing Catholic (according to the Pope's recent statements especially) can espouse the draconian measure to balance a budget he has called for.

Unfortunately voters ARE stupid; and they will probably vote for this poor example of a human being again.

    • If what you say is true Mike, then I guess we can't allow any practicing Catholic to hold office in this country. But somehow, I doubt what you say. You certainly haven't backed it up with anything.

    • Being a Catholic has what to do with wanting to privatize Social Security, therefore increasing payouts, and decreasing pay-ins to the program, therefore making benefits better, at the loss of corrupt governmental control over them?

Being a Catholic has what to do with reversing Tarp/bailout expenditures to corporations that failed on their own? Especially considering that most companies affected by Tarp either went bankrupt or are still being subsidized?

Being a Catholic has what to do with requiring people covered under Medicaid to pay a 15% Co-Pay for doctor's visits, operations, and referrals? Even though under the Paul Ryan plan, the Co-Pay is capped at 500$ (which the current system does not have).

It seems you sir, are the pawn, and an uneducated one at that.

I know reading is hard. Watching MSNBC is easier.

    • What does being Catholic have to do with balancing a budget? I was raised Catholic (catholic school up till college), and no where did I read that "thou shall not have a balanced budget".

You are correct in one statement. Voters are idiots. All we have to do is look at 2006 and 2008.

    • I would very much like to see proof of his corruption and how EXACTLY is his plan draconian and I would also like to know how the Pope fits on this by having specific quotes on this issue. Thanks...

  • How about stop giving aid to all of these third world muslim countries who instead of using the aid as it was intended. That is to care for the sick and weak and not arm and feed the terrorist and their leaders.

  • For starters, how about eliminating Obama's Army of Czars? Or, as I like to call them...Der Commie Czars. That's gotta be 3+ million right there in salaries.

  • General terms? Is this man an idiot? Ryan was as specific as he could be without actually listing every single of the departments he is cutting in such a short time span. Is he deaf? He asked a question and he got an answer and then he wants to act like he didnt answer the question... WTH... The OTHER guy was all general and all Bush faul this and that. He said NOTHING.

Why isn't this Sexy Ryan on Fox? I never see him unless I see a clip here on MSNBC. Why is he going there? ugh... No one is getting the message, because no one watches MSNBC. He needs to get on Fox.

    • Maybe deaf, but stupid for sure. And all of his guests seem to have problems completing a thought without him interrupting. I can't stand that guy. I saw him on Celebrity Jeopardy-if the question was about anything not civics, government or history (limited) he was clueless. He is seriously not near as bright as he deludes himself he is! And to hear what the other person is saying, you have to LISTEN, not be thinking in your head what your next comment should be!

  • How about repealing everything obama has done and then go back further and look and what fdr did and repeal more of that deal. how about doing away with the dept of education, the dept of energy, the dept of commerce, dept of urban housing and development, dept of transportation. how about reducing the dept of argriculture. how about reducing the dept of defence by no longer provide the defence of other counries who don't appreciate our help, and no longer maintaining posts in other countries. Bring our brave men ad women home and let them secure both the Mexican and canadian borders.

Oh and I'm sure something can be done about the dept of health and human services.
