Six other cases when the media incorrectly blamed conservatives for liberal violence

Former Obama Chief of Staff Rahm Emanuel said, “Never let a crisis go to waste.” The liberal corollary seems to be “Never let a tragedy go to waste.”

The liberal media rushed to judgment after the tragedy in Tucson and without any information to back their assertions declared that assassin Jared Loughner was a conservative, that he was influenced by Sarah Palin or by Rush Limbaugh or by Glenn Beck or by the Tea Party. Or by all of the above.

When the facts came out, it turned out that he’s a left wing lunatic.

Legal Insurrection put together a good list of similar tragedies and similar inaccurate accusations:

Unfortunately, this is not the first time we have seen this type of reaction. The meme that opponents of Obama are crazy and dangerous has been an explicit Democratic Party campaign strategy for over two years. Here is just a partial list of events in which the left-wing and Democratic Party media operation has immediately blamed right-wing rhetoric, only to be proven wrong when the facts finally came out: Bill Sparkman, Amy Bishop, The Fort Hood Shooter, The IRS Plane Crasher, The Cabbie Stabbing, and The Pentagon Shooter.

If you’ve never read LegalInsurrection.com, give it a try. They do great work.

  • John is probably in the corner sucking his thumb with his blankie waiting for words of wisdom from the anointed one.

  • When confronted with facts, the Alinksy playbook offers libs only three options:
ignore the facts and change the subject/challenge the questioner
    call your opponent names
or, as we see here - run away.
    John, can you hear me?
    John?
    John?

  • At what point will America as a whole be blamed for the language we use to make a point or to define things? You know, all of the war references. We target candidates, battleground states, & information wars. I watch football, & I see the quarterback avoid the blitz & then throw the bomb. He also needs his offesive line to win the battles in the trenches. BTW, go Bears in the NFL playoffs. BEAR DOWN!

My point is we use war references too often for anybody to really get their underwear in a bunch about after the fact. Why? Because almost everyone uses them, so it's pointless to bitch about right or left on this topic. The actual violence should be the issue, & outside of the odd abortion doctor shooting every 10 years or so, it's almost always a lefty.

  • Don't forget the Michigan Militia... they were all supposed to be right wing nuts, but turned out to be a bunch of anti-obama democrats.

  • Always firstist with the mostest with these lefties. Any time that the left can blame the right for a murder without having to actually prove it is a good thing for them. Anytime we let them get away with this is a bad day for us. We should never have let them control the media...ever.

  • Anyone remember the movie "Death of a President"? It's totally fine to fantasize about killing Republicans.

  • What always fascinates (well really, to be honest disgusts) me is how the libtard left is always using violent language in their rhetorical rants against what they consider to be the opposition a la "Old time Reds rioting in the streets and assassinating the Tzar"... and think that it's o.k. and fine for them to do so. But, let any conservative allude to the same b.s. and it becomes "hate mongers & crimes against humanity".

The only conclusion I can come up with is that lefty libtards are such panty waist sissies that they must immediately assume no conservative/independent could ever take their threats serious because they (the lefties) are so ineffectual that their violent language carries the weight of a spoiled petulant child making hollow threats, and in the opposite, any Conservative utterance that could be construed as violent language carries the full weight of an aggressive and determined adult about to take action.

Bottom line: Are we supposed to believe that when leftists advocate violence it is "just words" and not to be taken seriously, and if a Rightist does the same it it should be interpreted as a clear and present danger? If so, then the left obviously doesn't have a very high opinion of their own self worth and view the Right as the authoritative adult presence blocking them from their childish immediate self gratification.

That's why I still say liberalism is a mental disorder that can be cured with a healthy dose of self discipline and a lot of growing up.
