Switzerland endorses the Second Amendment, votes to allow citizens to keep their guns
There was no neutrality in this vote. The Swiss have overwhelmingly rejected a leftwing referendum that would have taken away their guns and stored them “safely” in armories.
A referendum, launched by a coalition of non-governmental groups, religious authorities and centre-left parties, pushed to have the weapons stored in armouries instead.

The initiative also aimed to abolish the practice of allowing those on military service to keep their government-issue assault rifles even after they leave the army.
But the coalition failed to secure the votes of both a majority of the population and cantons.
Final results showed that 20 out of 26 cantons were against while 56.3 per cent of the population rejected the initiative.
For any initiative to pass, the twin support of a majority of citizens and of cantons is required….
Amnesty International also issued a statement saying that it is “regrettable that the majority of the Swiss population did not find that the place of a weapon is not at home.”
When asked why he robbed banks, gangster Willie Sutton once said, “Because that’s where the money is.”
The obvious corollary that the left refuses to understand is that Swiss criminals don’t rob homes because that’s where the guns are.
Wouldn't that have defeated the whole defense structure of Switzerland? The whole idea is that there's a massive reserve force (every male between 18 and 35, I believe) that can be mobilized in a few hours. They have their equipment at their homes, so there is no need to drive to the base, get issued equipment, and go through all that. Plus, it's spread out, so it's VERY difficult to take the whole force out.
It's not strategically sound either. The invading forces would just need to seize or destroy the armories. Then the Swiss would only be able to use harsh language against the aggressor.

I'm the same way: the only one I trust with MY firearms is ME, so my guns are perfectly safe in my holster, slung over my shoulder, or locked up in my safe with the rest of the ammo.
There's no way I would ever trust some gooberment bureaucracy with storing my guns, just as I don't trust them with managing my healthcare or my retirement.
And if they get to store my guns for "safe keeping", would they really hand them over to me quickly and easily when I request them? Ha! yeah, right...

These people are a joke. They don't stand up for those who are oppressed or persecuted for being Christians in muslim countries or in China, but they do stand up for criminals who shoot cops. Disgusting.

Disarm them - they'll throw molotov cocktails like in Egypt or blow shit up with bombs instead ala IED's. This is something the libtards will never comprehend.
When you hear about someone with a gun/guns holding hostages, I have never heard of Amnesty International rushing in to take the place of the hostages. While there, they could explain to the bad guys why they shouldnt have guns.
Those wienies will be the first to snivel and whine "where are the police?" when someone breaks into their home.
