Inside Sharron Angle’s Campaign Headquarters

Last week I witnessed the effects of media indoctrination, first hand, when I went to do some volunteer work at Sharron Angle’s campaign headquarters.

We all hate the media. We loathe their liberal bias. We detest their posturing of neutrality. We abhor their selective enforcement, pounding Republicans every chance they get, handing out free passes to Democrats for the same offenses and all the while hoping no one notices.

Political campaigns aren't always glamorous, but someone has to do it

We notice. And we call BS on them. We make light of it here, we use humor and sarcasm to bring your attention to it, but we take their insidious agenda seriously, because we know their intent and the damage they cause.  Last week I witnessed it, first hand, when I went to do some volunteer work at Sharron Angle’s campaign headquarters.

After filling out the requisite forms and showing them my ID, the office manager showed me a list of over a dozen areas that volunteers can participate in, including door knocking, putting up signs, and poll watching (Yes, poll watching. Voter fraud and abuse by Democrats is real, and the campaign has attorneys and supporters at every location watching out for and recording any shenanigans). Their research shows that phoning voters at home is the most effective use of volunteers so they asked if I would help man the phone banks and I complied.

The office was a beehive of activity, the cubicles filled with volunteers of all ages, with a slight lean towards seniors. I was given a script, with an opening, “Hi, I’m (your name here) and I’m calling on behalf of Sharron Angle for Senate” and two questions: “Will you be voting Republican in this election cycle?” and “Will you be participating in early voting?”

The objective was to reach out to as many voters as you can, remind them that early voting ends on Friday, October 9th, and answer any questions they may have regarding Sharron’s stance on the issues. Most phone calls I made were met with answering machines. I also got hung up on a lot, as can be expected when cold calling people at home. But all those misses were worth it when you get a “hit” – an undecided independent voter, providing the opportunity to discuss the issues.

I made six hundred phone calls that day, and am proud to say I believe I made more than a few converts. Unfortunately, as stated above, I also witnessed firsthand the damage that the liberal media can inflict. I spoke with a registered voter who said, “Angle? She’s with the Tea Party, right? They’re all just a bunch of racists!”

I was tempted to reply, “No, you’ve been misinformed. Why, Sharron’s husband is black!” but I doubted the campaign would share my sense of humor. I asked if she had ever been to a rally, and she said “No.”

“Then why do you think they’re racists?” I said.

“Because I saw it on TV.”

I pointed out the biased coverage of the networks, but there was no changing her mind – it was already perverted by the media. Sadly, she wasn’t the only voter I spoke with who had been indoctrinated. The mainstream media is attempting to shape the nation, not report on it. It’s our job to stop them. And we have to succeed, because the alternative is a government-run nanny state, exorbitant taxation and the loss of our personal freedom.

Success can be achieved. You just have to get involved. Now is not the time to sit on the sidelines – stand and be heard.

Vote.

Volunteer.

One person CAN make a difference, as I learned in my day at Sharron Angle’s headquarters. A hundred hangups and answering machines are well worth it when you reach that one undecided voter and get to point out the lies of the media, the lies in the campaign ads, when you’re able to educate a fellow citizen on the issues and convince him to listen to both sides of the debate and then make a well informed decision, knowing that when he does it will bring an end to the freedom-suffocating, tax-and-spend crazy, reckless regime of Obama, Reid, Pelosi and their ilk.

I made a difference in this campaign and I have never felt more patriotic in my life. It’s a feeling I highly recommend to you.

See Part I: Meeting Sharron Angle

Meeting Sharron Angle

Last week, while having lunch at a Chinese restaurant in Las Vegas, a woman walked in who looked like Sharron Angle. She was accompanied by only one person, and I thought, “Can’t be her, she would have more people around her.” Then…

In the past, I shrugged off my right to vote due to my disdain for politicians, joking that “It only encourages them to run.”  To my way of thinking, it didn’t matter which party was in office – Republican or Democrat – my life would not be changed.  At the end of the year I may have a few dollars more or less in my pockets, but overall my world was not greatly affected.

Sharron Angle's and her infectious "Cheshire Cat" smile

But I can no longer remain ambivalent about my right to vote. After spending most of 2008 and 2009 in Vancouver, BC, I returned to a country that I don’t even recognize. Too many of my friends and family are out of work. Too many of the principles that made America great are being eradicated by the current administration. The first two years of Obamanation have been a disaster.  Two more years of this socialist takeover and the damage may be irreversible. So this year, I vote.

Last week, while having lunch at a Chinese restaurant in Las Vegas, a woman walked in who looked like Sharron Angle. She was accompanied by only one person, and I thought, “Can’t be her, she would have more people around her.” Then I saw her smile that Chesire Cat grin and I knew it was her. More people arrived and joined her party as the restaurant scrambled to put tables together to accommodate them. Other diners began to ask to have their pictures taken with her, and she obliged.

As I was getting ready to leave, her husband walked past my table and I motioned him to come over for a minute. I told him I had just driven across the country from NJ to vote for Sharron, and I wished them success in the campaign. He wanted to call Sharron over but I stopped him, saying I didn’t want to interrupt her lunch. He said, “No, please, she is going to want to hear this” and he asked me to wait while he brought her over. When they approached, he asked, “Tell her what you just told me.”

And here’s the weird part – completely unexpected, totally out of nowhere, I was hit with a wave of patriotism like I had never felt before, and my voice faltered for a second. I came here to help her campaign and suddenly here I was, face to face with the woman who may very well be in the most important race of the midterms, the woman who is poised to remove one head of the hydra that is Obama-Reid-Pelosi. I told her I came all the way here from NJ, to vote for the very first time in my life. To vote for her.

And . . . she hugged me.

After I got over the initial shock I realized – this is the woman the left has smeared as “extreme and dangerous?”

Yeah, sure. Extremely grandmotherly, maybe.

Sharron and Ted Angle stayed with me for about five minutes, discussing politics and policy. She said part of the reason she made the decision to run for the senate was the same reason I was going to become a first time voter – she found that our country was becoming unrecognizable, and much of the fault lay with Harry Reid, architect of the Cornhusker kickback and all the backroom deals contrived to pass the calamitous Obamacare, and purveyor of the failed two billion dollar stimulus plan.

The Angles were gracious and kind, and Sharron was passionate about the issues affecting our country at this most unique moment in history. Before parting, I vowed to volunteer some of my time to work at their campaign headquarters, and they offered heartfelt thanks.

They left, after expressing gratitude to me for having shared my story with them.

I left, grateful that I had the opportunity to meet and speak with the next Senator from the (sometimes) great state of Nevada.

Joy Behar on Sharron Angle: “This bitch going to hell”

Can someone please answer one simple question? No, that wasn’t the question. This is: Why does Joy Behar have a career on television?

Can someone please answer one simple question? No, that wasn’t the question. This is:

Why does Joy Behar have a career on television?

She’s completely classless, completely clueless and considering the fact that she bills herself as a comedian, completely laughless.

We have a friend who hates sitcoms because, he says, all character development ends far too soon in most of them and each character quickly devolves into increasing exaggerations of his or her most prominent trait.

Based on that description, can The View be described as anything but a sitcom?

Macho man Harry Reid says, “I’ve never had to prove my manhood to anyone”

Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid (D-Nev.) fired back at his Republican opponent Sharron Angle Thursday for telling him to “man up” when it comes to Social Security reform.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sCTkVPbPmV8&feature=relatedRemember that Seinfeld episode where George thought of the perfect comeback to an insult and insisted on making a fool of himself by delivering it long after the appropriate time had passed?

During Reid’s debacle of a debate with Sharron Angle last week, she challenged the Democrat by saying, “Man up, Harry Reid. You need to understand we have a problem with Social Security.”

TheHill.com reports Harry Reid’s George Costanza moment:

Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid (D-Nev.) fired back at his Republican opponent Sharron Angle Thursday for telling him to “man up” when it comes to Social Security reform.

Reid, who is in a deadlocked race with the Tea Party-backed GOP nominee, said that people know where he stands on the issues while Angle is a mystery to Nevada voters.

“People in Nevada know me,” he said on the “Ed Show” on MSNBC. “From the street to the ring to the Senate chambers, I’ve never had to prove my manhood to anyone.”

Sharon Angle campaign offers Harry Reid’s greatest hits at The Harry Reid Soundboard

We love “The Harry Reid Soundboard”, a funnier-than-hell website created by the Angle campaign. And it didn’t really take much work – all they had to do was collect some of the stupidest things Reid has ever said.

harry-reid-soundboard

We like Sharon Angle, the Republican who’s running against Harry Reid. But quite honestly, Wile E. Coyote would have our vote if he were running against Harry Reid.

So, naturally, we love “The Harry Reid Soundboard”, a funnier-than-hell website created by the Angle campaign. And it didn’t really take much work – all they had to do was collect some of the stupidest things Reid has ever said.

So spend a view moments listening to Reid be Reid. Then let us know if you’d cast your vote for Angle or Reid or Coyote.

Rasmussen poll: Harry Reid now losing to four Republicans, a Whig and a Druid

Businessman Danny Tarkanian now leads Reid 47% to 39%. Sue Lowden, ex-chairman of the Nevada Republican Party, holds a 45% to 39% lead on the Senate majority leader, while former Assemblywoman Sharron Angle earns 44% of the vote to Reid’s 40%.

OK, we made up the part about the Whig and the Druid. But since everyone who’s even thinking about getting into the Nevada senate race now outpolls Reid, we suspect a Whig and a Druid would also be favored over Reid.

Here’s how Rasmussen reports Reid’s imminent retirement:

Businessman Danny Tarkanian now leads Reid 47% to 39%. Sue Lowden, ex-chairman of the Nevada Republican Party, holds a 45% to 39% lead on the Senate majority leader, while former Assemblywoman Sharron Angle earns 44% of the vote to Reid’s 40%.

Nevada Lieutenant Governor Brian Krolicki, another Republican who is now reportedly considering entering the race, barely edges Reid 44% to 41%. A judge in December dismissed an indictment against Krolicki alleging that he mishandled money while serving as state treasurer. Krolicki charged that the indictment was politically motivated.

And now we bid a fond farewell to the soft spoken Reid with Roy Rogers’ and Dale Evans’ rendition of Happy Trails To You.

As Casey Kasem might have said on American Top 40, “This one’s goin’ out to Harry Reid in Las Vegas, Nevada.”
