We all hate the media. We loathe their liberal bias. We detest their posturing of neutrality. We abhor their selective enforcement, pounding Republicans every chance they get, handing out free passes to Democrats for the same offenses and all the while hoping no one notices.

We notice. And we call BS on them. We make light of it here, we use humor and sarcasm to bring your attention to it, but we take their insidious agenda seriously, because we know their intent and the damage they cause. Last week I witnessed it, first hand, when I went to do some volunteer work at Sharron Angle’s campaign headquarters.
After filling out the requisite forms and showing them my ID, the office manager showed me a list of over a dozen areas that volunteers can participate in, including door knocking, putting up signs, and poll watching (Yes, poll watching. Voter fraud and abuse by Democrats is real, and the campaign has attorneys and supporters at every location watching out for and recording any shenanigans). Their research shows that phoning voters at home is the most effective use of volunteers so they asked if I would help man the phone banks and I complied.
The office was a beehive of activity, the cubicles filled with volunteers of all ages, with a slight lean towards seniors. I was given a script, with an opening, “Hi, I’m (your name here) and I’m calling on behalf of Sharron Angle for Senate” and two questions: “Will you be voting Republican in this election cycle?” and “Will you be participating in early voting?”
The objective was to reach out to as many voters as you can, remind them that early voting ends on Friday, October 9th, and answer any questions they may have regarding Sharron’s stance on the issues. Most phone calls I made were met with answering machines. I also got hung up on a lot, as can be expected when cold calling people at home. But all those misses were worth it when you get a “hit” – an undecided independent voter, providing the opportunity to discuss the issues.
I made six hundred phone calls that day, and am proud to say I believe I made more than a few converts. Unfortunately, as stated above, I also witnessed firsthand the damage that the liberal media can inflict. I spoke with a registered voter who said, “Angle? She’s with the Tea Party, right? They’re all just a bunch of racists!”
I was tempted to reply, “No, you’ve been misinformed. Why, Sharron’s husband is black!” but I doubted the campaign would share my sense of humor. I asked if she had ever been to a rally, and she said “No.”
“Then why do you think they’re racists?” I said.
“Because I saw it on TV.”
I pointed out the biased coverage of the networks, but there was no changing her mind – it was already perverted by the media. Sadly, she wasn’t the only voter I spoke with who had been indoctrinated. The mainstream media is attempting to shape the nation, not report on it. It’s our job to stop them. And we have to succeed, because the alternative is a government-run nanny state, exorbitant taxation and the loss of our personal freedom.
Success can be achieved. You just have to get involved. Now is not the time to sit on the sidelines – stand and be heard.
Vote.
Volunteer.
One person CAN make a difference, as I learned in my day at Sharron Angle’s headquarters. A hundred hangups and answering machines are well worth it when you reach that one undecided voter and get to point out the lies of the media, the lies in the campaign ads, when you’re able to educate a fellow citizen on the issues and convince him to listen to both sides of the debate and then make a well informed decision, knowing that when he does it will bring an end to the freedom-suffocating, tax-and-spend crazy, reckless regime of Obama, Reid, Pelosi and their ilk.
I made a difference in this campaign and I have never felt more patriotic in my life. It’s a feeling I highly recommend to you.
