More smart power: U.S. Director of National Intelligence doesn’t know about major British terror bust

He is the Honorable, but not particularly well-informed James R. Clapper, Director of National Intelligence.

Remarkably, Clapper’s display of ignorance -– he is completely unaware of the fact the Great Britain just arrested a dozen Muslim terrorists in a huge nationwide plot -– was in the same Diane Sawyer interview that yielded Janet Napolitano’s 7/24/364 quote.

(It’s Christmas -– give yourself a present and skip ahead to the 3:35 mark so you don’t have to listen to the rest of their nonsense.)

Napolitano said the day before this interview that the Brits have come up with no evidence to indicate that the plot was aimed at the United States, but what the hell. Shouldn’t a guy with the title Director of National Intelligence know about a major terror bust just carried out by our top ally?

Even Sawyer is stunned by the fact that he doesn’t.

That’s the dumb Clapper. And now, for comparison purposes only, here’s the Smart Clapper. “Clap on, clap off, clap on, clap off, Smart Clapper.”

  • You have to remember that this administration officially refuses to acknowledge that muslims are the primary terrorists.

Therefore, since the news announcement from England specifically stated that the suspects were muslim it became officially a non-event to the government and its lackeys and he didn't need to know about it. /sarc

  • Please in the future make the questions easier for these officials. Perhaps a multiple choice or open book format would be preferred.

    • "Nearly all terrorist activity worldwide is conducted by male Muslims, age 20 to 28." True or false?

Can you imagine the stumbling and stuttering that any member of the Obama Administration would go through to avoid actually answering that question?

  • oh boy... if this is not a good reason to self arm and have a good stockpile of ammo I dont know what a good reason could be...

  • Can you just imagine the media circus that would have ensued if it had been George Bush that was ignorant on such an important topic?

  • Clapper. Rhymes with crapper. Which is where members of the regime deposit the best part of their brains on a daily basis.

    • Our original headline was "Clapper in the crapper," but maturity reared its ugly head at the last minute and we decided against using it.

      • That would have been a great headline!!!!! What does that say about my maturity? But in my defense, this administration is so in the clapper...er crapper, that you have to make fun of it to keep the blood pressure intact.

  • More proof these people aren't worried about our security, they are there to get more control of the populace.

  • Look, cut him slack, the administration is very busy checking the Amish for sub machine guns hidden in pickle barrels, patting down nuns for imploding rosary beads near abortion clinics, and worrying about farm kid military soldiers with exploding underwear suspiciously passing by the annual ACLU holiday solstice festival ---- everybody knows most terrorists are not muslims anyway

  • Holy crap.
While it's a scary thought that this trio of 'profound and multi-dimensional' political appointees gets in the way of intelligence and security, I know there are good people in these agencies that get the job done despite them.
Still hard to believe the dumbfest though.

    • It's not so hard to believe when you realize that these fools are political appointees. They don't have to really know anything about the various agencies they infest, they just have to know how to advance the agenda!

  • There you go Chris, it hasn't even been 24 hours yet! Besides, I'm with jukin...where's that dumb president when you need him to kick around?
