George Lopez, the well-known unfunny comedian who called Sarah Palin a bitch on his ratings-challenged late night TV show last week, looks like he may be like he may be the target of a little name calling.
The New York Post has the deadbeat details:
The highly paid host of TBS’s “Lopez Tonight” has allegedly been welshing for more than a year and a half on $21,000 he owes to Joe Torre’s Safe at Home Foundation, which helps battered women and their kids.
Lopez, an avid golfer, participated in the charity outing at Trump National Golf Club in Briarcliff Manor in Westchester on July 15, 2008, along with Bill Clinton, Mayor Bloomberg, Yogi Berra, Billy Crystal, Bob Gibson, Ron Darling, Joe Girardi and Rudy Giuliani.
As the auction was ending after dinner in the clubhouse, Donald Trump spoke to the club’s executive vice president, Dan Scavino. “Donald said, ‘Let’s raise some more money for Joe’s cause. Why don’t you go up there and auction off a one-year honorary membership to the club?’ ” Scavino told us.
The club’s initiation fee is $300,000, and annual dues are $18,000. Scavino started the bidding at $5,000 and it rose to $20,000. “The guy in front of me was literally taking out his checkbook for the $20,000,” Scavino said. “I was about to say ‘Going once, going twice,’ when I get a bid from the back of the room. It was Lopez,” who upped the ante by $1,000.
While bidders for other prizes paid up immediately, Lopez didn’t, Scavino said. And when he was asked for payment later, he said, “I’ll send you a check.”
To nudge Lopez into paying, Scavino e-mailed him in December, offering to extend the membership through the 2009 season, but never received a reply.
“Several attempts by the foundation have been unsuccessful in getting the money,” a source said. “I think Lopez made that bid just to show off in front of the crowd and to impress Donald Trump.”

Props to George Lopez for keeping it real....all you guys on the sarah palin bandwagon definitely lack commonsense...when she talk it sounds like hog sh**......how do you guys believe the stuff coming from her mouth...her education is not that much greater than mine.....just face it, minorities are not stupid....we understand exactly what people like sarah palin is saying.....and its a whole bunch of uneducated nonsense....period....now go ahead and call my a hater, not open minded, or whatever your heart desire....bottomline is sarah palin is horrible when it comes to politics....

Good for the Post's research on this loser. Good for Scavino for going after someone - and calling them out - especially a celeb - to get called out!! Its not like Scavino isn't backed by Trump or Torre! Still no word if the Foundation got the money from him I bet. How sad - I can just see how it all went down - - unreal....pay up Lopez - and Trump should also not let him play there!

The funny thing about liberals like him, his audience and all the rest of them is that they try to project that they are open minded and fair and want only good for ALL people when in fact they are bigoted, hypocritical racists much more so than any conservative I know. He's is unfunny, I've watched just a few minutes of his show a couple times and he screams with that irritating voice and the audience full of morons think he's the greatest.His guests that I saw were always liberals and when ever he or the guest would say anything anti white or anti conservative the group morons would go wild.
