Just as professional Democrats have begun fleeing any association with Barack Obama, the party has come up with the brilliant idea of holding a raffle. Give money to the party right now and you could win a chance to meet President Obama.
It is, perhaps, a sign of desperation within the party that you’re automatically entered in the contest for making a contribution as small as $3.
You read that right. Not $3000, not $300, not even $30. A mere $3 contribution is all it takes to enter this contest and win the chance to meet this devalued President.
The Washington Examiner has details of the desperation:
It will happen October 22, when Obama appears at a rally for faltering Democratic Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid in Las Vegas. “The president will be kicking off the final push at a grassroots rally,” an Organizing for America email says. “We’re saving three backstage passes for supporters like you.”
Obama has been criticized for appearing at high-dollar events like a soiree at the Washington DC home of former network newswoman and White House health care spokeswoman Linda Douglass. That event cost $30,400 to attend. This one will be different. If you send in just $3 between now and 11:59 p.m. Friday, you’ll have a chance to win — air fare, hotel, and “backstage pass” to meet Obama.
And it’s even better than that. Read the fine print of the email, and you’ll see — at the bottom, just like a contest on the back of a box or a six pack of soft drinks — “No purchase or contribution necessary to enter. Void where prohibited.” Even if they don’t send in any money, winners will receive “one round-trip ticket within the continental U.S. to Las Vegas; hotel accommodations for one; and a meeting with President Obama at a rally even on 10/22/10 (approximate combined retail value $1,200.00).” The email does not specify how much of the $1,200.00 is for the plane, how much is for the hotel, and how much is for meeting Obama.
In other Democrat news, Joe Biden is organizing a fundraiser where he’ll pay $3 for the chance to meet you.

What happened to the time when anybody could meet with their elected officials freely instead of having to "win" it. I think our forefathers are rolling in their graves right now

$3 is still too much money that I am willing to pay for the chance to meet him. With that said though I still find it gross that they are selling time with the President for $3 like the Presidency was some kind of a ho' stable. Some liberals are just the worst. I may not want to meet him, but I would have had better respect for the Presidency (the Office) than that.

Ahhhhh...gotta love the groupie theme...are they gonna make the "winner" sign a confidentiality agreement not to use the photo op etc, like all those other groupie contests do? No. Because like Gigabyte said, the "winners" were already chosen and they're mapping out the commercials, sound bites, photo op etc, tailored to Obama's other BS tricks like finding jobs and housing for oh-so-random-people in the audience.
It's their modus operandi and it's pretty sad when they actually think the other half of the country will fall for it.
What's disgusting is how he's using OUR money to campaign for the likes of Reid and Boxer. Is the DNC reimbursing the government for the cost of his campaigning? I'll bet not.

No, because the "winner(s)" have already been chosen. They're not just gonna let any old schlub do a meet-and-greet with Zero. They will likely be loyal precinct chairs or committee members from very strategically selected districts.
