Barack Obama Parkway. That’s what the city fathers of Orlando, Florida have decided to name the city’s newest road.
We assume it’s a toll road on which you drive for free, but your children and grandchildren will have to pay dearly. We also assume you can only get on the road by making a sharp left turn.
Central Florida News has the story:
On Friday, Orlando leaders made President Barack Obama Parkway the first road under construction in the nation named after our 44th president, and surely one of the few in history to be named after a sitting president in his first term.
“I think it’s great if people want to support their presidential candidate, but I think it’s a little soon,” said Orlando resident Karey Graham.
“You don’t have to be dead to be honored,” said Charles Sledge from Orlando. “We need to honor people while they are living.”
While some might find the name controversial, Orlando Mayor Buddy Dyer said the benefits of the road are undeniable.
“Building these reliever roads is important for people being able to get to work or home and being able to save 10 minutes they can spend with their families. In this particular area John Young (Parkway), Kirkman (Road), I-4 always have congestion,” Dyer said.
Construction of the road will undoubtedly delayed when liberals accuse the city fathers of racism for painting white lines on the road.

Not in New Mexico! We have the Bill Richardson Interchange at Coors Rd. and I-40 in Albukookoo. $Bill was not goobernor when the funding was approved and construction started but I guess that makes no difference since he was in office when it was finished. One of the buildings at the Spanish Historical Center, a taxpayer supported historical center, has one building named after Manuel Aragon, a long time state senator. Manny Arrogant, as we all know him, is serving a prison term for taking kickbacks, fraud and corruption. How do you think the Spanish Historical Center got built in the first place?
Only in the Land of Entrapment can you get your name on a public building even though you are a liar and thief doing time in prison. Only in America will you see highways and freeway interchanges named after fools that have no clue at to what needs to be done for the citizens of a state or our country.
Even to left-wingers like John it must be obvious why Orlando city leaders named this street after the current POTUS: because Obama is half white.

The voters in O Tizzle voted AGAINST light rail NUMEROUS times. It never passed and yet, they are going to build it. And WHERE? Oh, that would be from Tampa (?) to O Tizzle....Riddle me this...WHY?

right before i left, they were having city council meeting to discuss not whether or not they would name it after him, but how they would name it (lord obama parkway, black jesus parkway, etc)
and this is ANOTHER unneeded road
they actually built an overpass on colonial that... bypassed an intersection for an area of town nobody used.
semoran intersected with colonial, and heavy traffic would be going one of three ways: from semoran onto colonial (right turn)
from colonial onto semoran (left turn)
or from semoran across colonial, back onto semoran
and they build the overpass...from colonial east to west, across semoran...
the only thing i could think of, is that they had to build something, so they could justify keeping their budget for next year, and while they made like, 20 people happy, it pissed off alot of us, that, combined with them f*cking over my small business owning buddy and maker of the best hot dogs in the world, caused me to finally leave (though i had been contemplating for a while)
I took my small business to Florida once, about 4 years ago. I left immediately upon finding out what a whacked out, over regulated, big government kind of state it is. I'll never go back. Florida is over ran with morons, and this is just more proof of it.
That's because the majority of Florida residents are transplants from Liberal New England, illegals from 3rd World Caribbean 'nations', or 5th-6th generation welfare families.

I live in O Town and THANK YOU GOD I don't live near this area and never drive there. The mayor in this town is the biggest dem a** kisser in the world. I cannot wait until the Messiah visits here (hey, we have golf!) to dedicate it...NOT.
This area of town isn't near the attractions so only the locals will get to see it and worship.

you have any idea if the hot dog shaped hot dog stand is still there on east colonial? last i saw it, it was next to that asian restaurant i cant ever remember the name of (its purple) , right outside of the vietnamese area of town.

the best? you know it, i used to feel bad when i got a hot dog from hot dog heaven, because i didnt have enough of a lunch break to make it to his place, johnny makes a mean dog, and you cant go wrong with his burger either
and sailing would probably do it for me too, i just had no way of doing it! haha, my usual breaks were either miami or (more likely) going to the altamonte mall (imax!) or just taking day long trips out through altamonte and beyond...there is some interesting things out there. i grew up in a heavily wooded area, but something about all those trees was soothing after weeks of concrete jungle.
Thank God I don't live in Orlando...it's bad enough the news media worships this madman as a god, now Orlando does, too??? Sickening!
