Just in case your kids don’t get enough Islamic indoctrination, it’s Mattel to the rescue.
The Daily Mail UK has the details:
One of the world’s most famous children’s toys, Barbie, has been given a makeover – wearing a burkha.
Wearing the traditional Islamic dress, the iconic doll is going undercover for a charity auction in connection with Sotheby’s for Save The Children.
More than 500 Barbies went on show yesterday at the Salone dei Cinquecento, in Florence, Italy.
Makers Mattel are backing the exhibition which is the work of Italian designer Eliana Lorena.
The auction is part of Barbie celebrations for her 50th anniversary this year.

Just wondering if I get this for my daughter if they will release the ball less ayatollah(anatomically correct) ken doll for the set.
I see Mattel is coming out with a new "Stoning Kit" for her. When she fools around with Ken, then you can stone her to death.
When I was a kid (same birthday as Barbie), the Barbie heads came off. Now this sheds a whole new light on that little design.
See...you learn something new every day. I never knew Barbie gave head. Might explain Ken's smile?

Ah crap.
I just got my Barbie commeration catalog and was hoping to get Athena barbie her outfit is awesome and there are others that are great too. Now this though truly sucks. I understand if Mattel wants to be inclusive and blah blah blah but having a burkha wearing Barbie COMPLETELY defeats the purpose of Barbie. Isn't she supposed to be independent? a career girl? *shakes head*
