Im surprised the dump truck driver even stopped. He probably heard a scraping sound for a while and wondered what it was, then hopped out later to check on it to see a SmartCar stuck in his wheel well.
Its part of Obamacare. If everybody is forced to drive one of these the gov't won't have to shell out any money. We will all be dead. No more hospital bills for broken limbs or concussions. Just funeral home bills.

my fathers car makes around 45-50 miles per gallon. Its quite a big car - Citroen C5 with 2.2HDI engine. Of course you have problem as only quite good car with diesel in USA is Jetta 1.9TDI.
I pulled into a shopping center parking lot and next to all the empty handicapped spaces were two empty spaces marked "Hybrid."
But let's see, there is a hybrid SUV that gets 21 mpg, they get to park there. And there is the terrific Jetta as you mentioned that gets double that, but it's not allowed to park there. Yeah, that really makes sense.
Being somewhat defiant at times, I pull my car into the Hybrid space when I get at chance. It has a battery and won't run with a dead cell. Unless they define hybrid carefully, I consider that my Magnum qualifies! Haven't been towed yet.
Now when the hubby pulls the Hemi Ram 1500 into the electric recharging space we get raised eyebrows, but never once a word of correction. He keeps threatening to rest the handle of the charger under the hood just for looks.
The other real laugh is maneuvering the F-250 Super Duty into the compact space!
can you just casually back the F-250 into the charging station then drive off with the thing stuck under your bumper? Now that would be a statement!

Wonder if they will blow this up and place a copy in every Smart Car showroom. On second thought, maybe they won't.
