What happens when animal advocates run smack dab into wind farm advocates? Or to state the question a bit more precisely, what happens when birds run smack dab into wind mills. Civil war, that’s what.
The Daily Caller has the avian information:
On Tuesday an international bird watchdog group based in Spain, Save the Eagles International (STEI), warned that the expected construction of 3.5 million wind turbines worldwide will result in the extinction of a variety of bird species.
STEI is calling for a moratorium on all wind farm construction and an investigation into whether the threat to wildlife is worth the amount of energy produced — when, they say, there are so many other, more efficient sources of energy.
Which sources would those be? Nuclear’s unacceptable to environmentalists. They want hydro-electric dams destroyed. Coal’s a non-starter. Oil won’t fly.
According to STEI it is a fallacy to compare wind turbine bird deaths to other sources of bird carnage such as automobiles and high windows, as wind turbine construction is optional.
“[M]ortality caused by windfarms and their power lines is new and additional”, said STEI president Mark Duchamp. “[A]nd like the proverbial last drop that spills the glass, its effects will be upsetting. To wit the Tasmanian Wedge-tailed Eagle, which has been condemned to extinction by the construction of seven windfarms in its habitat.”
Nooooooooo! Not the Tasmanian Wedge-tailed Eagle! It’s our favorite of all the wedge-tailed eagles.

I wonder how many of these idiots have actually seen a wind farm. The wind turbine blades turn so slowly that any bird that cannot avoid them needs to be culled from the flock. A new take on avian Darwinism. I am in the oil & gas exploration business, but I think that wind power is a great idea. It blows all the time here in Texas.
It's all bull, if a birds killed while flying here it had isues and shuold have been killed.
arent these windmill things noisy? and they freaking ROTATE. go to any spot, preferably where birds are used to human activity, and yell and spin your arms like a madman. no bird is gonna go near you in a million years. not to mention any sane people (exept the police).
Yes, they are quite noisy when spinning. No birds are getting killed by them. If the environmenowackos show you a dead bird lying near a wind generator,
they probably did like Daffy in Libya. Killed the bird, and tossed it in a strategic spot to prove their point.
This is what happens when people worship such a diverse set of deities. Even if someone claims to worship the Earth in the end they have to make a choice as to a smaller deity within the Earth that takes up most of their worship. One worship the animal spirits and the other worships the environmental spirits. Both believe they are doing the best for their own distinctive deities. Hilarity ensues... let it continue I need to laugh.
These people are idiots. We have plenty of these wind turbines in Texas. The big ones turn so slowly that any birds that cannot avoid the blades probably need to be culled from the flock as a function of natural selection.
Yes, the big ones ARE really slow. And I've spent a lot of time in the farms in the Southern California desert, and I haven't noticed any piles of dead birds. I think this is just one more in a long string of lies that the environmentalists are spouting.
Next they're gonna tell us we can't fly (airplanes) anymore b/c of all the birds that get taken out upon take off...

I don't like birds OR cats. So I think we should put up all the windfarms we can, AND eliminate all cats. Or at least all that are over a few months old. Kittens can be fun to play with.

Really now. Don't tell me you can't find an enviro-wacko who would consider buildings and automobiles as "optional".
If you do find one, make sure he doesn't live in a building, nor drive a car. Of own any products that were made in a building, or delivered in a vehicle of any sort. Hypocrites.
I think that to be a hypocrite, one has to actually make some sense at least twice.
Calling those characters hypocrites is like saying the babbling, drunken homeless bum is a hypocrite because one minute he says you're a martian, and the next, Napoleon.
Well yes, they're babbling fools, too. But there IS hypocrisy in the environmental movement, in that they don't want to live without the modern conveniences any more than anyone else.
