Far be it from us to make generalizations, but based on the latest actions of the NAACP, one can only conclude that black skin is also very thin skin.
The organization has forced Hallmark to pull of those talking graduation cards. They claimed it was raaaaacist.
Hallmark was baffled by the complaint. They said the card’s theme was the solar system and was meant to emphasize the graduates’s ability to take on the universe, even something as powerful as black holes.
“The intent here is to say that this graduate is not afraid of anything,” explained Hallmark spokesman Steve Doyal.
“And you black holes, you are so ominous,” the speaking card said. “Watch your back.”
“That was very demeaning to African American women,” intoned Leon Jenkins, a spokesman for the Los Angeles NAACP. “When it made reference to African American women as whores and at the end, it says ‘watch your back,’”.
“You hear the ‘r’ in there. ‘Whores,’ not, ‘holes.’ The ‘r’ is in there,” said Minnie Hatley, another Los Angeles NAACP rep.
“It sounds like a group of children laughing and joking about blackness, again,” said yet another paranoid NAACP member.
Naturally, Hallmark gave in and is pulling the card from all its stores.
Is it just us or is this vaguely reminiscent of the incident a few years ago when a school official got in trouble for using the world niggardly and the incident more recently when black groups complained that the day after <s>Christmas</s> Thanksgiving was referred to as Black Friday.
Lunacy. Absolute lunacy.

Have you seen BET? Have you seen rap videos? Girl please look at the culture of black people in this country, it is not awesome and there is nothing truly to create envy in others. I have known and heard from white people who are dirt poor, yet they prefer to be white and poor than to be Whitney Houston or any black person who is rich (unless we go into the Denzel arena... Michael Jackson at one point in time).
No honey, black women are not generally respected in society. I have to work ten times harder than a white person to get any degree of sameness (in respect, etc) as them. It is not until I can proved (sadly) that I am not "like" the BET girls, one of these NAACP idiots and what not that people can relax around me etc. Some people dont even give me the chance they won't approximate at all.
Admittingly some of it is our fault (or rather not necessarily mine and like minded women but in a general sense) because of behaviors that have sadly become characteristic and a lot of it really is the fault of black men even if they wont admit it (not all of course) and a lot of it is history. I would say a great chunk is also the government's fault.
First there was control over the black woman's body because she could bring forward from her body free slaves, then as slavery was no longer allowed control over the black woman body was no longer profitable so black women were relegated to the whore slot. So the govt sees black women as liabilities that can only be bought with welfare and goodies and assumes that black women cannot take care of themselves, are not talented nor intelligent enough and hence make great pawns to play in elections. It is sad.
Black men (again not all) don't help matters when they continue to use black women's body for their lusts, leave black women with their babies and not marry black women and make respectful marriages and live with them in a harmonious homes. Do you know that black women (and asian men) are the most UNDERMARRIED people in this country? Why do you think that is?
Then of course the hoochie mamas and the whores on BET and everywhere. Yes they are being used, but guess what if they say no they won't get used. If they say I am going to educate myself and work hard to get what I want in life instead of going the easy route, they won't get used. Depending on men and or the government for sustance and welfare, it is sad.
