The Sonoran tourism office may want to rethink its ad campaign aimed at Arizona tourists.
Maricopa County Sheriff Joe Arpaio called attention to this frightening ad that ran in the Arizona Republic. From the good sheriff’s twitter page:
“I want the public to call 1-800-4SONORA & demand to know the meaning of this ad that was in the AZ Republic today http://twitpic.com/1ptueq”
Surely the ad means that when they spot a tourist from Arizona, they’ll buy him a nice cool cerveza and a delicious taco dinner courtesy of the Federales.
No?

Spend your vacation pesos in Arizona instead.
Just a suggestion. :-)
I'll do you one better, Omar: I invest business capital, and make charitable contributions to nonprofits, in AZ.
As for vacationing there, the Grand Canyon is on the schedule for 2012 and that is a GREAT suggestion you made. Hope others will take it to heart, too.
Guess I'll be spending my vacation pesos in Canada this year. I pray to God I won't get hurt and require any medical attention, however.
Apparently, the newspaper cut the ad off. The whole ad is not supposed to be as threatening as the one originally ran.
Call the number 1000 times a day. Each call costs them money.
