Aw, the hell with it. Here’s how the Herald-Sun newspaper describes the sordid situation:
THE ABC is facing another barrage of public anger over a new TV show in which shock comedian John Safran simulates sex acts to an image of US President Barack Obama.
The Australian Family Association described the show as “filth.” Spokesman John Morrissey said it would be the lowest point in Australia’s television history.
“It’s offensive and it’s in bad taste and it’s certainly not something that kids should be exposed to,” Mr Morrissey said.Safran masturbates to the image of President Obama in a Palestinian sperm bank.
American cable TV host Chris Matthews may be considering a lawsuit demanding royalties from Safran.
“I invented masturbating to Obama and this guy is ripping me off,” the Hardball reportedly thought. “In fact, I’m feeling that thrill up my leg right now. This interview is over. Anyone know where the nearest men’s room is?”

Helen, there is no target audience for being needlessly insulted in the comments section.
I'll stop posting now, as it seems the people running this site have all banded together to cover for Editor. There is no reason to treat people like that. My initial reply to Editor was a bit hostile but it's obvious I misunderstood what they said. There was no reason to begin attacking me as a person.
It seems like Editor is the one who needs to calm down. I find it very hard to believe they were simply trying to be funny. I don't understand why you two can't stay on topic, instead you continually make rude conjectures about the person, like you did just then.

Massive overreaction. He didn't plan it nor was it the focus of the segment AT ALL! He was already at the sperm bank and noticed that there was no pornography there to help him as there usually is at sperm banks. The only picture there was a book (maybe a biography) with Obama on the cover.
It wasn't planned and they could only do one take of the scene. On his radio show he said he probably went a bit too far but there was no message or insult intended, it was completely spontaneous.

1. The original article was a commentary on American TV host Chris Matthews' unrequited love for Barack Obama, not on masturbation. You are free to jerk off to photos of Obama or Al Gore or that little twit Kevin Rudd for all we care.
2. The "don't tell me to clam down" line wasn't a "tough guy" retort. It was a cheap joke at the expense of the typo in your original comment, which said "clam down" instead of "calm down."
