There used to be a saying. “If you can’t beat them join them and change them from within.” While the President appears to be utilizing that tactic from the White House, the Kos Kooks are looking to employ a rather different technique in their plan for media monopoly.
That tactic can be summed up thusly: If you can’t beat them, hope they go to jail, or at least out of business.

Vyan at Daily Kos is getting giddy in a post headlined “Could we soon see a world without Fox News?” It’s apparently all over for FNC: “In less than a week the News of the World Wiretapping and Bribery Scandal has quickly metastasized into a Multi-Headed Dragon of Death for Murdoch Empire and simply lopping off one head, doesn’t seem to be enough – the infection has already spread.”
Now that Fox-hating liberal interest groups, bloggers, and Democrat politicians are vowing to investigate, the Kosmonauts think Murdoch’s “criminal enterprise” is about to collapse…
Of course we all understand the left’s hatred of Fox. It’s hard to control the people when you no longer control all of the people’s information. But maybe this could be a good thing, because Fox has been getting a bit RINO over the years. Perhaps its time for them to be replaced by a truly conservative news network.

total hysteria over phone hacking which actually pysically endangered nobody but publishing stolen govt papers which endangered lives is fine & dandy. I do so hate hypocritical liberals.
The only lamentable damage was emotional to the parents of a 14 (?) year old that was kidnapped and murdered. Whomever was doing this deleted phone messages to make space for more messages. The parents believed that she was still alive checking her messages, while she wasn't. That is devastating to hear, however still it didn't REALLY lead to her death it just that there was an expectation of her being alive, it was indeed crass what they did but your point is well taken. Murdoch by the way PERSONALLY met with the parents of the girl and apologized for what the periodical did.

I agree that (in the remote possibility it became an issue) a smart individual would buy up Fox and not mess with the formula very much. Or another similar news network would pop up. It is a guaranteed recipe for success. It's like living in a town with 9 stores that only sell pepsi products. Eventually someone is going to set up shop and sell coke and pepsi. They'll easily pick up the business of the forty percent of the town that the other nine stores are ignoring and they'll pick up some pepsi users in the process as well.
Truthfully, even if Murdoch and his team of lawyers weren't intelligent enough to have had all of his businesses insulated from each other, and he were in danger of losing much of his empire, I can guarantee that someone would step in and buy FNC from him. There is no way that a smart businessperson would let that cash cow die.

As far as the RINO charge goes, I have to agree that O'Reilly has gone soft on some of his positions, losing Glenn Beck was not good either. Filling his time slot with Bob "liberals can do no wrong" Beckel and Andrea Tantaros, is just another Hannity and Colmes, but without the intelligence on the liberal side. Beckel is delusional, not that Colmes isn't but, Oh what am I saying? Colmes and Beckel are both still tripping on that hit of 4 way blotter they shared in 1975!
If I didn't have a TV and there was IHTM News, I would buy one just to watch!
This is disturbing about Rupert Murdoch, and I'll be very curious, and concerned, to see where everything goes. Agreed, the British tabloid culture is a very different world, but I think Fox certainly brought a taste of it to the US. I truly dread the prospect, however unlikely, of Fox crumbling, and having to live with the gut-sickening jeers of the leftards for the rest of our lives.
Is it just me, or does the picture make you just want to roll up a paper and say " No! Fido, No! Bad dog, BAD! Go to your bed!" ? Anyone?

I would say there is no danger to fox news going away. Murdoch is a real business leader and has each of his media outlets "insulated" from the failures or wrong-doings of the others. Bottom line, were the kos types to have ever held real jobs, where they actually understood business back offices, how we use LLC's to mitigate risk for a conglomerate, etc, they would realize their elation is just the same as the elation of a 5 year old when he things santa claus has brought him a bunch of gifts. It is ignorance of reality that causes that elation......only difference is a 5 year old is innocent in his/her ignorance, and the kos/lefty types are just too stupid to understand how reality works.

I'm kinda with KQ on this issue, because being the cynical and sarcastic conspiracy nut that I am, I'm convinced that the News of the World was sabotaged by mid to low ranking insiders who were given their marching orders from one of the many Soros controlled tabloid media in England. This so-called scandal has been going on for decades, everybody know about it, so why now? I agree with KQ that the timing is very interesting. There is smoke under the leaf cover of this forrest floor and where there's smoke, there's fire...follow the money. Right now we're being manipulated by the media as they bamboozle us and cover the perp's/s' tracks! All of the facts aren't out yet and probably won't come out for years, if ever, but we'll learn more as time goes by.
I agree. There is a lot more here than what we are getting. The lady made an appointment to answer questions with the cops and she got arrested?! There seems to be something or someone working under the shadows here and we really won't know for a while. I wouldn't be surprised if Soros or a Soros protege comes out of the woodworks to buy up the rest of the company that Murdock wanted to buy.

Actually Fox News has NOTHING to do with this at all, so this dude needs to calm down. It is indicative of the TABLOID culture in THE UK, not indicative of the News Channel culture here in the US and again nothing to do with Fox News at all, at least for the time being. This guy is way too excited about something that won't happen at least not due to this incident. He needs to take his meds.
Glenn Beck is coming up with his own network although I believe it is online. I hate the media would make a great program actually. You guys should try to associate with Pajama TV they are great over there.
If they get rid of Fox, that "Fairness Doctrine" BS may be ushered in to prevent the rise of another network. Just my two cents.
Could we see a world with out MSNBC, CBS News, ABC New, CNN and any other liberal or progressive propaganda machine? The best way to eliminate your competition is to have a much better product. That is what Fox News has over the rest. Epically their female on air personalities are much better than any that appear on the other networks, I just had to get that dig in.
