The lovely leftist enclave of Mill Valley, California is bracing for an onslaught of those crazy, violent tea partiers. One can barely imagine the horror this news might provoke in a town so liberal that it gave Barack Obama nearly 80% of its votes.
The Mill Valley (Calif.) Herald reports the stark terror that’s descended on the open-minded liberals who call Mill Valley home:
It’s an irony that doesn’t sit well with local resident Deborah Phelan, a former AP reporter who now works in public relations. Infuriated by the images and rhetoric employed by Tea Party groups across the nation, Phelan said city property should not play host to a right-wing get-together.
“We have young kids going there to swim, to go to classes,” Phelan said. “Do you want your kid to walk by a picture of the president of the U.S. with the horrible things they say about him?”
Phelan has appealed to city officials to cancel the event, but that appears unlikely. . . . Phelan nonetheless says she’ll keep seeking ways to stop the gathering from taking place in Mill Valley. “I feel our local government has to make a stand against this movement, which I view as seditious,” she said.
Always good to see liberals accepting divergent views. Makes you proud to be an American.

I just got back from being in CA (City of Angels) for a bit... The LA girls are hot and slutty, the air is gross, traffic sucks, English is sill spoken but it is not the native tongue is some parts, and without playing to stereotypes the Left Coast Libs are a special breed of dumb.
Not all liberals are extremists nor totally nonsensical, be it the West Coast crew or other wise. The ones from CA really do seem to have some malfunction in thinking.
After being there I would say its a kind of elitism. Many who hold those wild leftist views have not traveled to other parts of the USA nor abroad that much (the ones I met anyhow- only about 200 or so who I spoke face to face with). Its a very, again to what I saw and interacted with, insular mindset.
"We think this way so it therefore must be gospel for all men" kind of mindset; just don't say gospel since that might imply religions and they don't care too much for that at times...
The Chicago Political Machine (my home town! Yeah!) scammed the USA voter base and did ram Barry into the Oval Office. Many were duped; it happens.
Now many USA citizens are getting mad and seeing the real face of Barry Boy. The Tea Parties are made up of conservatives, Libertarians, defected center-left Democrats, some GOP and others of that ilk. Its a melting pot for sure! Kind of what is supposed to happen in a democracy where things are not running in line with the will of the people.
If the Mill Valley lot can't take an opposing view point being heard that is a sign that they would freely give up their right to speak out should another side have issue with them. Of course they would not want that...
If you have and use a freedom, others have and can use that freedom too. Get over it. Big bad Bush 43rd sparked protests from those folks, what goes around must come around. Barry and this cronies are on the hot seat now. You don't have to march against him... Yet you don't get to stop others from don't so.
Seditious? Yes... No more so then when you said Bush was out of line in his term. This time there are more facts supporting the dislike of the POTUS however.
Liberals in this case seem to have taken this as a matter of ego "I voted for Obama and now people distrust him and dislike him. That reflects on me!"
That was the message, one of personal hurt, I got from those I met with. They could not divorce their selfish view and action and see that the issue was about the nation and its leaders and not their own "being wrong" somehow since the guy they like and put into office has since lost the faith and support of the people he was supposed to justly lead.
The child minded "People hate Obama. I voted for Obama. People hate me and don't 'get me' and are not being groovy with 'me' because of that" was the message I saw given (from subtext) too often in CA.
This is not about you. Its about democracy in action and holding bad leaders accountable.
Mill Valley does not like some anti government protests? Maybe a quote from Liberal Thomas Jefferson will cheer them up:
"I hold it that a little rebellion now and then is a good thing, and as necessary in the political world as storms in the physical."

I'm glad to know, however, that the writer of this article thinks that being anti-racism or anti-war are "lunatic." It's also great to see you conflating one woman who doesn't even live in Mill Valley anymore with all liberals, or all liberal residents of the town for that matter. Furthermore, I can't help but note the sarcasm in the 'proud to be an american' line... but if a big, bad liberal had wrote, you'd probably be all over them for being anti-American, huh? I've only been on this site for a few minutes and can't stop noticing the incessant logical fallacies and factual errors. Just because you have the opportunity to write something on the internet doesn't mean you should. Think about what you're writing and carefully weight evidence instead of piling BS into the furnace.
As for Gay Pride parades, if you've ever been to one, you KNOW there's no pedophilia. Take the homophobic stick that's up your ass out! I swear, you've never met a gay person in your life. But then again, judging by the number of Gay Republican sex scandals (typically involving politicians who are publically anti-Gay) that keep popping up, maybe you're gay, too...

I am sure those same kids walked by pictures daily of the previous president with violent slogans, nazi armbands, and hitler mustaches. Wow. Let me get this straight. I can say anything I want about Bush, republicans, Sarah Palins children, etc. I can show support for terrorists, Che, Castro, La Raza (I consider it a TRUE racist hate group), other assoted enemies of the US and democracy, etc. I can critisize the government regarding Gitmo. etc etc etc. But, if I want to express my opinion regarding taxes and excessive spending I am seditious? I can let my children watch gay pride parades (complete with images of S & M, nudity, pedophilia) and thats ok. But, if they see an average Joe with a sign saying lower my taxes it is damaging.

A Greek philosopher said thousands of years ago that democracy would last until the people figured out that they could vote themselves the treasury. With so many people getting more and more "free" "entitlements" from the government. I'm afraid we are approaching that point.
