With a straight face, Nancy Pelosi says, “Unemployment checks are the fastest way to create jobs”

Wow. Just wow. Nancy Pelosi on Thursday made herself the odds on favorite to win the award for “Stupidest Quote of 2010.” We realize we’re only half way through the year, but this one is going to be tough to beat.

In the words of Gateway Pundit, “Only a government bureaucrat would think paying someone for not working is a job creator.”

NOTE: As a result of the Botox injections, Nancy says everything with a straight face. So there is a possibility that she was making a joke, but no one could tell. One can only hope.

  • If ever there could be a better example of why term limits are needed, she is the perfect example, I see no mention of her 5 million a year for her private jet (thank you tax payers) let this idiot live on unemployment! in a real world she could not get a job making snow cones at the county fair!

    Congressional Reform Act of 2010

    1. Term Limits.
12 years only, one of the possible options below..

    A. Two Six-year Senate terms
    B. Six Two-year House terms
    C. One Six-year Senate term and three Two-Year House terms

    2. No Tenure / No Pension.

A Congressman collects a salary while in office and receives no pay when they are out of office.

    3. Congress (past, present & future) participates in Social Security.

All funds in the Congressional retirement fund move to the Social Security system immediately. All future funds flow into the Social Security system, and Congress participates with the American people.

    4. Congress can purchase their own retirement plan, just as all Americans do.

    5. Congress will no longer vote themselves a pay raise. Congressional pay will rise by the lower of CPI or 3%.

    6. Congress loses their current health care system and participates in the same health care system as the American people.

    7. Congress must equally abide by all laws they impose on the American people.

    8. All contracts with past and present Congressmen are void effective 1/1/11.

The American people did not make this contract with Congressmen. Congressmen made all these contracts for themselves.

Serving in Congress is an honor, not a career. The Founding Fathers envisioned citizen legislators, serve your term(s), then go home and back to work.

  • Every time I hear this women talk I just shake my head, I shake it even harder when I see the people behind her nodding off to sleep. The only reason I can figure that she has her position is because of her wealth, she just appears soooo dimwitted.

  • Do any of you think that she may be sleeping wtih garafalo? No one can be that stupid....well, perhaps they are.... they are two perfect examples of the ignorance running rampant in our country today....and thanks to the liberal public school system. Ain't it grand!

  • Well all pork and entitlements were/are enacted just to buy votes. It's just that people finally realized whose money was being spent. (their own)

  • We owe Pelosi a debt of gratitude.
Her arrogance showed us how the "tolerant" liberals REALLY feel about the people of this nation.

  • Especially when their Stimulus and Jobs bills , were just a fabrication , in their feeble little minds .

  • How in the world do these people keep getting re-elected into office? Never mind, if I seen the voters that pull the lever for these clowns, I'd probably crap my pants with fear.

  • "Comfortable prisons reduce murder rates." --Nancy Pelosi She may as well have said that.
