Chris Christie. We like this guy. We like this guy a lot. In fact, we like this guy so much that if we could only do one of two things and one of those two things was vote for him and the other of those two things was hang out with Meghan Fox for an afternoon and apply suntan lotion to her all-over and then pretend to be her personal trainers and then hand feed her banana and strawberry fruit smoothies while she lovingly stroked our hair, we would vote for him.
OK, so maybe we don’t like him that much. But we do like him. And a performance like this gives us great hope for the future of the Republic.

In my office the vote was about 55/45 for Christie (if folks are to be believed). A number of those who voted for are independents, who had voted D in the past. To judge by watercooler talk now, I'd say that many to most of them regret their vote.
Yes, Christie has cut many things from the budget. But, much of what he's cut is desired, and will be replaced with local property tax increases. Now he wants to put a referendum on the ballot to limit property tax increases. Of course it will pass if it comes up. But, what does that mean? Very hard choices, is what it means.
Can you say, 40 kids in a classroom?
No art? no music? no sports? no science labs? books replaced less often (I'm not talking about replacing while still usable - I'm talking about replacing while still 'current')?
And, that's just the education impact. How about, less police and fire coverage? infrastructure repair neglected? It all comes from the top, with little thought or planning.
A scalpel is required for surgery, but put one in the hand of a butcher and the patient may well die.

No. I bet he feels vindicated. He may feel that Christie's reaction asserts his estimation that he is combative, negative and confrontational and is a barbarian who shouldn't be in office.
I doubt it, most reporters don't get it, & most won't understand what is going to happen in November.
